So a NY SC judge struck down Hochuls mask mandates for schools yesterday.
Our district sends out an email stating masks are optional as of today. I have an emotional conversation with the dopne who has been so good about this sh*t for the last few years. I was so happy for her.
Wake up today with an email from same district "Oops, they may appeal it,mask up today and for the near future".
These fucking people are cowardly, devious hypocrites and scoundrels.

I understand your point but sooner or later people have to stop complying or it never goes away and they'll end up stripping more freedoms away. I remember back in the 80's when the school district would come up with same crazy new rule that all of the students got up and walked out of class....the whole school. It would generate news coverage and that is when true change took place. Everyone knows that the masks don't work, even the CDC admitted such. People in this country have lost their backbones and it gets worse every year. Just take a look at what is happening in Canada right now.....they've had enough. I'm curious to how their situation will play out but I bet the government caves. |

It's only back up because NYS filed with an appellate court - so it gets an automatic stay. The hearing is 10am Friday so the mandate is in effect by the stay of the Nassau decision at least until then. A decision from the appellate court could come down as early as Friday, certainly by Mon-Tues.
If Hochul doesn't have emergency powers, then the case is pretty much open-and-shut. And even in this banana republic state, there will be a huge shitstorm if she tries to ask for emergency powers, not with case totals, positivity and all else nosediving down.
AFAIK, I thought Hochul's emergency powers lapsed on Jan 15 .....

Thought Texas would be better. Sounds odd but TX is a huge state that the dims are hellbent on turning blue. I was in FL last month and almost nobody had a mask on, it was great. Here one state over from TX in NM almost everyone has a mask on not only indoors but also outdoors although we have had an indoor mask mandate for almost two years now. I never wear a mask unless I go into a govt building or Dr. office....nobody enforces it out here. |
