Do you anticipate that we'll have to trade up for Mariotta? I still think we have a chance to land him outright IF we lose out.
We'll get ahead of Tenn and with Tampa playing in the piss poor NFC south, I can see them winning another game.
Otherwise...sign me up for this plan!

Whoever has the first pick ( Jaguars or Raiders) is most likely trading that pick to a Qb starved team . They can drop back a few spots, and still get the guy they want. Setting themselves up quite nicely with extra high dratt picks.

Can't see the jets signing a guard Mike Iupati in Fa ,when they invested a lot of draft picks in that position in the draft..

I would rather see us address ILB in the second round and find a good cover guy, with the speed to play in space.
Harris is a dinosaur in terms of 2014+ inside LBs in the NFL. He is simply too slow.
I would also love to tender Harrison and see him sign elsewhere for a 2nd round pick to help build other spots on the defense.
Iupati would be great here, but oday has been good enough to man one of the 2 guard spots, and that second round pick can be spent on a different position.

What do you think of a guy like Perryman in the 2nd? Or either Kendricks or Wilson in 3 or 4 (if we have a 4th)?

I like it but if we sign Iupati I'd rather not draft another guard in the second. Let Abushi, Dozer, Winters corpse, and another late round or UDFA duke it out in traing camp. Then we can use our second to select a WR?

Perryman, Hendricks, wilson all excellent choices. I think wilson will be around in the 3rd.
I also really like jordan jenkins from Georgia. The new "1 and done" OLB they have is getting a lot of acclaim, but Jenkins is an excellent athlete, and can play "Rush OLB"/DE in a 4-3. Would be a nice player to develop who will likely be around in the 3rd.

Do you see Dunbar running Rex's 3-4 or a 4-3 like he did with the bears and vikings? I think the jets would be better off with 4-3 of Coples-Wilkenson-Harsion-Richardson. This will also fit Babin playing the wide 9. Harris could be kept at a reduced salary as a 2 down backer, or Davis grabs the spot and with his athleticism can probably play all three downs.
I would then go in FA on defense. OLB KJ Wright from Seattle and Bruce Carter from Dallas, both will be looking for new home and run 4.7 type of guys neither are big impact guys but both are Pros who can play, Wright maybe 4years 16 mill and carter 3 and 9mill should do that. Maxwell is fine, say 5 years 40 mill, and I would go Buster Skine also, for about 2.5 on a one year deal.
on offense, Denver will not let Barone go and dangle the OC job there for him and I do not think they will let the jets talk to him if Case leaves. I know McDaniels thinks the world of him.
You will have to pay a premium for Verren to get him to leave NE say 4 and 16 mill or Jacquizz Rodgers who won't be as much and it is easier to leave a losing team than a contender. Jason Campbell QB 2 years 3 mill, A hold the fort guy who has played in 6 different offenses, and never a complaint about his work ethic. I would go Dan Connolly who can play both G and Center 2 years 6 mill, Iupati is just too expensive for a guard the top guards are all getting 10 mill. If your going to raid the Giants, Sign Fells who is a better blocker and receiver. Keep and eye on Moeaki from Seattle he is finally healthy he wont get many touches as that offense does not use TE that much and he is 3rd on the depth chart. WR Kris Durham, who I think can be had for 3 years and 6 mill, he will give you the redzone threat that is lacking.
Draft
I think the jets win 1 more game. I think Buffalo was more of a flyer than the Pittsburgh game so for sake of this draft I will pick them 5 and choose players using CBS sports draft rankings.
1. Amari Cooper WR 2. A.J. Cann guard 3. Clive Walford TE 5. Sean Mannion QB 6. Brandon Bridge QB 7. Jamon Brown Oline
