What’s the best one you own? And not the usual cordless drill/driver. Something good, a little off the beaten path?
for instance, I bought a cordless Ryobi circular saw recently. Always had a corded Craftsman circular saw and figured why the hell would I need a cordless. Bought the Ryobi (I have other 18v Ryobi tools that work off the same battery) for one job in the yard in late fall far from an outlet. I’ve used it a dozen times since to make quick cuts, even forgoing a hand saw. Best tool I’ve bought in a while.

oh now you did it bro
since i moved to ct and we decided to gut and redo the entire house/property ourselves, wifne basically gave me the green light on any tool i wanted. having these fucking tools -- and a place for each of them SO I KNOW WHERE THE FUCK THEY ARE WHEN I NEED THEM has been teh awesome. seriously, if i didn't have all this stuff and projects to do around the house and if home depot wasn't open, i would be in fucking jail or worse from all this covid lockdown BULLSHIT.
anyhoo, here are some fucking GREAT tools to have:
ryobi plunge router
dremel multi tool
ridgid compound miter saw (like the fucking robocop/transformer of workhorse tools)
kreg jig (quite possible the "coolest" tool to have in your shop)
porter-cable air compressor (life changing tool for doing finish nailing... haven't bought the framing nail gun yet but got my eye on it... ifn i decide to build my own barn shed instead of prefab, i will definitely get that gun)
tip of the iceberg but those are tools i've never had that now i don't know how i got shit done without them

ryobi biscuit joiner
dewalt orbital sander
and the spare fridge in the workshop gets honorable mention.

Compressor and finish nailers, miter saw, and table saw are probably My favorites. Can pretty much do everything I need around the house with those. The dremel tool and Kreg bit are handy too as Shakin mentions.
But a cordless circular saw sounds handy. Mines corded so I’m tethered to an outlet.

Never been big on all the tools because I know I'd fuck it up and eventually call a professional anyway. Buddy of mine does his own demo, framing, drywall and masonry and he sells cyberrisk software.
Before kids, I used to make custom golf clubs. Nothing crazy, just for myself and friends. Had a dremel, hosel/shaft bending machine and a fuck ton of pipe cutters. Had to give up my work bench when we finished the basement. Now I have a hammer, ratchet set, some screwdrivers and some Allen wrenches. Don't get to do what I loved and what I was good at, but now can banish the kids to the basement when they're annoying.
I still regrip clubs for pretty much everyone I know that plays.

I have most of the tools you tools have posted about...and I am the point in my life where I might start getting rid of some of them...but I have some rotted brickmold around a basement door that never see's the sun...was trying to figure out how to fix it without ripping out the whole door frame..then I saw a vid on how to cut the rotted pieces out with an "Oscillating multi-tool" and got wood. No other saw would work for this. Perhaps a hand saw for five hours.. but I'm old and lazy. Anyhoo, might be my last tool purchase besides replacing the bosch jig saw that the blade replacement mechanism dicked out on me. (I used a 50 year old electric craftsman jigsaw that wasnt touched in 40 years that I salvaged from my FIL (RIPSB) to finish the job) Fucking thing started right up.

Yeah that DeWalt cordless circular saw is the tittys. Also got a Kobalt corded 1/2" impact gun that does better than you'd expect. Will break lugs and suspension bolts free

I’ll be downsizing in a year so am giving away tools.
But for now....Pressure washer.
It’s so satisfying to use, people ask to borrow it and I just do the job for them.
Just brought a 50 year old brick patio back to perfection.

12v Bosch drill. Probably my all time fave. Light weight but powerful and hasnt let me down once after years of abuse.
Ryobi weed eater with 18v lithium. Soo damn convenient.
Lithium batts may be the single best advancement of power tools in the past 50 years.
But....imma downsizing. Did too many projects and renovations. Just about tired of being a shitty carpenter.

Pressure washer is great. Everyone should have one. And fun to use.

I have one of those oscillating cutters. Bought it to trim up some door casings and trim when installing new floor tile. Worked like a charm. Used it a couple other times to cut some stuff in not easy to reach places.
