I’m hoping that when the dust settles, one positive that comes out of this will be PDs rethinking their allowed techniques for subduing a perp. It seems that many PDs do not teach and allow the tactics that the MN police depts do?

Body cams - either use them all the time or none of the time.
The folks pushing for them can’t suddenly not like it when they reveal citizens acting like ass hats. It has to flow both ways.
And they shouldn’t be able to be turned off while a BBQ owner in Louisville is getting shot, leaving a bad angle building security camera being the only visual evidence of what happened.

A lot of rumors that antifa's gonna hit the suburbs, but so far it all looks like fake news and bullshit. They started thinking twice about it when the warnings they'd be blown away started coming in I’m pretty sure it was all just fake news. Rumors they were going to hit Brewster, Poughkeepsie, Newburgh have all turned out to be bullshit. A couple bad apples but all peaceful protests over the past few days. The real protesters, at least where I live, aren’t the ones doing the looting and shooting and that’s the problem. Once the sun goes down, the switch is flipped and the goons come out, and a real issue gets hijacked by violence.

Many of these people are resisting , on purpose, to get a reaction. Buddy/family friend of mine is a motorcycle cop in Queens. Will tell you most people cooperate fully when pulled over but the ones who are uncooperative are normally , shall we say, non white. Im with the Floyd family here but... How hard is it to keep your hands on the wheel and simply tell the cop.. I won't move until I know you feel safe. That would go a long way to solve this problem.

Agree about the body cams, and that should be addressed. Found it interesting though, I read many articles on this case wherein the BBQ owner was described as a friendly neighborhood fixture, but did not mention that he had fired a weapon at the police from near the front door of the business. www.wlky.com/article/live-following-another-night-of-unrest-louisville-mayor-gives-update/32744031# Nor did most of the articles mention 6 handguns and one shotgun were recovered from the BBQ. That seems relevent? Not being argumentative, just pointing out how the editing and agenda of whatever media source is involved can greatly skew the publics perception of events and inflame emotions.

Was just watching the Nassau County presser with the Exec and police commish.
Seeing a bunch of planned protests for the Merrick area. There was some drama there yesterday as there were counter protesters. Protesters pissed off bc cops blocked off certain areas from them. Cops claim they did it because of active construction sites. They are monitoring social media and there have been threats to Roosevelt Field and Americana.

All I said was it is relevent in an investigation where the cops are explicitly saying he fired at them first and have vid to back up the assertion..and I had to dig deep to find that info. I'm not arguing guilt or innocence, just pointing out how this story has been presented..or in simpler terms..I'm looking for fairness? How does it benefit any of us if the media spoon feeds what they want to believe and by extension us to believe, demonize cops and inflame public passions? We are seeing the results of that sort of thing play out right now.

Before any of this occurred, I saw BLM posts that explicitly described the Merrick area and a march then into adjoining neighborhoods that were race-based, deliberatly provacative and ominous in their implications. The cops would have been negligent for ignoring what was destined to be a violent confrontation.

Basically targeting Merrick bc thats where the "racist Trump supporters" are. I think the cops did a good job. They are free to march wherever they want. I hope for everyone's sake that as the sun goes down the miscreants who have been hijacking the protests dont go into those towns down there. Lots of LEOs and 2A people. Not the type of houses you want to break into.

heard some chirping about anarchists coming out of nyc and into nassau (specificially the merrick to massapequa corridor) "to take what's theirs," and i had to laugh. not because i moved out of seaford, but because, at least in the large circle of friends and acquaintances i had through the fd, coaching youf sports, etc., a good number of the men and young men i know will willingly, year after year, dress head to toe in camo, climb 25 feet into a tree and freeze their balls off for 12 hours just waiting for something to shoot. things would not end well for the eye-bulgers and the neckbeards.

Seen a few videos of these Antifa fucks blindsiding people while they are distracted by others and have read they are coordinating their attacks. Just because they're scrawny fucks doesn't mean they can't cave your head in with a pipe when you aren't looking. Just be aware of your surroundings.

There clearly was no resistance. Bad Cops love to scream stop resisting while they fuck you the fuck up. It's well documented on a regular basis Can you please provide some of this? If it is so well documented it should not be difficult to find. Stats, not just a single case here and there but overall stats to support this narrative. I am 57, I have 4 brothers and roughly 15 cousins. Not to mention dozens of friends. None have ever told a story of a bad police interaction, other then being pissed about a speeding ticket. I am not saying this never happens, but I surely do not think you can produce the evidenced to support systemic issues you routinely talk about.
Not an attack at all. Just curious.
I mean "well documented" as in videos regularly surfacing of clear abuse by police. But yeah I'm talking about single cases here and there. I don't hate "all cops" and I appreciate the good ones just as much as Medics and firefighters. I have had bad experiences, and I know green will not believe it, but doing nothing wrong except apparently looking like I didn't fit in or something. I had a cop wrongly put a gun in my face screaming his fuckin head off "motherfucker get out of the car, who the fuck you think you are I'll shoot you motherfucker" he "thought" I was someone else apparently? Or maybe he was playing a game. Said I was running from him, chasing me for 3 miles. I had pulled out of my apartment and drove 3 blocks when I saw his lights in the distance and started pulling off to the side, thinking I was letting him pass. That's one of many "bad luck" run ins I guess. Oh I was arrested, they stole my cash, and I went into court and the entire thing was dropped completely, no lawyer, no fine, nothing. I should have sued and they knew it. Motherfucker only wanted to get an arrest in before he went to the MLB baseball game. Dressed up like he was gonna play in the fuckin thing. IN THE JAIL. But yeah I'm referring to the countless vids of cops claming ppl on the ground resisting and either being murdered or severely beaten while cuffed and all
