Antifa does suck. And nobody should conflate them with the protestors. But notice how quick the George Floyd discussion became about them. mirrors exactly what's going on in the real world pay attention

Since George Floyd was murdered Antifa riots have caused more black people to die than the police. Which doesn’t change what happened to him. It’s not a competition. But it drowns it out. Like I said A.D.D. Vicious cycle. It sets it up as 2 “sides”, when it’s not. Separating us. You can hate bad cops and antifa. Lets be honest, if it wasnt election year these protests wouldn't have nearly as much steam. Look up the Google stats for "Black Lives Matter" searches. Spikes in 2016 and 2020. Even the protests have morphed into a Trump thing now. Like the Women's March. trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=US&q=%2Fm%2F012hdhkj

My entire life I have seen civil rights being a gigantic issue, MLK's murder is still something I remember vividly. I remember riots as a kid and I remember racial tensions as a kid. I was an athlete so for the most part I got along with everyone however there was plenty of hidden anger in my little universe. After 60 years it would be naive of me to think that this anger is misplaced, life has not been fair for many. I grew up fortunate, and fortunately took advantage of it for the most part. I know programs in the past decades to help disadvantaged imrpove their lot have mostly failed, but I think that only stresses the need to do something that works now. We know there are people out there that hate us, and by us I mean all Americans, the least racist time i can remember was after 911, when America truly had no color. WE cannot hate ourselves, we will be ruined, and I feel a slippery slope right now tht could easily lead to ruination. Early this week, Monday perhaps the days all run into one with this lockdown, CNBC interviewed Ken Frazier, CEO of Merck. The man was inspired and inspiring, he explained that he was fortunate enough to be part of some program in Philly as kid that bused him to a better school. He took advantage and look at him now, he is a black man btw. Anyway he was stressing the need for corporate America to do more for minorities, to help them get the chance they are not born into. I know it sounds like affirmative action, which imho has failed historically, but in a more aware environment why would this not work? Any minorities I've worked with in my career are just co-workers, do the job as well or better than anyone else, more need that chance. He said it starts with education and I agree. We need teachers in lesser school districts to stop sleepwalking their way to a pension. If the inner city kids feel inspired by their teachers they will excel, it only makes sense. Education is color blind, brains are color blind. If money is to be spent, start in schools, improve the facilities, improve the technology, give the cities what wealthy parents can give their kids, money will be spent let's just not piss it away as has been the case. As to the cops, imho there are assholes in all walks of life, so there are bound to be some on the job. That doesn't change the fact that for the most part they do a thankless job putting their lives on the line in a respectful manner. One of my neighbors is a young cop and he said he can't find anyone defending the cop who killed Floyd. i said to him I felt NY had better training for their force and more up to date on whatever holds they use, as obviously a knee to the neck is not a good idea, he just sort of nodded to that but offered no opinion so I could be wrong. Bottom line iseveryone is outraged by this, and it's all exasperated by the freaking rona, the US is a powder keg right now, and bothe sides of the aisle better sort their shit out and get together bringing this country together.

Bottom line iseveryone is outraged by this, and it's all exasperated by the freaking rona, the US is a powder keg right now, and bothe sides of the aisle better sort their shit out and get together bringing this country together. I understand your feelings, and your heart is in the right place, but it all starts with the family. If a family values education, the kids will get educated. Know who the kids friends are. Keep the family together. It has been said a million times but the 3 things that will keep someone out of poverty no matter their race are; Graduate High School Work Full Time Don't have a kid before you are married and are 21
It is that easy. But those values are looked down on in America today and it keeps poor people poor no matter what.
People want the easy way out, the free stuff, the party and no work. They build the straw house and expect to have the life of the person that took the time to build the brick house or want to take that brick house away because the person that built it had an unfair advantage. I wonder if kids even hear stories like the 3 Little Pigs these days because those stories teach a lot.
You bring up the CEO from Merck. Do you know how much hard work and time it took to get where he is? Do you think he partied all the time and complained about working late or do you think he put in the time and effort and that is what got him there. Yes he took advantage of opportunities but there are opportunities for everyone in America.
Poor school districts get so much federal funding and there has been no correlation between increased funding and better results. 9 times out of 10 the money goes to administration not the kids.
Poor Asian families come to America and succeed at a much better rate than whites. They succeed even in the face of affirmative action that makes it much harder to get into college than it does for any other racial group in America. They value family, education and hard work and that is why they succeed.
TL/DR; There are opportunities waiting, people just have to take advantage of them. I am sure that saying that makes me an unfeeling asshole.

I can’t even imagine the shit you saw and the frustration you felt on the job. The closest I came to urban crime was when I got ripped off trying to buy a bag of weed in high school in Boston. Gave the guy the money, he walked away. Said he’d be right back. That was a long ride on the T back to the suburbs. Had to tell Sully and Fitzy I lost their $5 investment. I’ll always listen to what you have to say. But can you also once in awhile be funny like you used to? Those were the days.

Lets be honest, you come back here because the other Jets sites are cucked and the fair weather New England fanbase is going to exodus now that Tom is gone. And we talk about politics bc the Jets have sucked for almost a decade now and that horse is beaten, dead and buried.

Then I loved all the characters here. Always something entertaining going on. This place was the 2nd best thing on the web after the prom. Now? I have no fucking idea why I’m here.
