I met him one time. A girl I was dating had back stage passes which ended up being in his RV since it was an outdoor venue. He was a huge college football fan evidently, as he sat at the kitchen table signing autographs and taking pics with fans he had 4 or 5 tv’s going with college games on each one. A really cool guy. Surprisingly short! But boy could he shred on that fiddle. Quite literally. His bow at the end of the concert was hanging in ribbons. To this day still the loudest concert I’ve ever been to.

He was a huge Univ. of Tenn fan. RIP... multitalented musician who influenced a whole range of genres. Huge fan of his. "In America" is a great song... about a united America overcoming the issues of the late 70's, "....the cowboys and the hippies and the rebels and the yanks." Need a little bit of that these days.

Beyond that Devil went down to Georgia song which was played on continuous loop on the radio it seems, I’m not familiar with his work. Now his brother Jack....that’s a whole other story! That shit made me run like white lightning out a black snakes ass...

This guy had more genuine American patriotism in his sweaty hat than you have in your whole bloated carcass. For that reasoneatabagofdickscommon
