I remember growing up in Rockland and flipping cards . had a bunch of Seaver Cards in the early 70s. Many were destroyed by bike wheels and spokes

there's a lesson here somewhere. Perhaps a drunkenly-acquired fishing magnet, imaginatively deployed, expertly wielded and new in the box... would help me find this lesson. Where would I find such a thing.

I had thousands of them in the 70's, all tossed by my motherpne. Prolly a small fortune in 60's early 70's cards in a dump somewhere next to Timmy's hand-hewn Marionettes.

Havent heard any mention of him from those that do. He sort of disappeared after JI. I think his life was a little more chaotic than he let on, so I hope he's ok. One of my absolute faves. We once figured out we might be related, with ancestors from the same small area in Ireland..without exchanging names lol.

Where would I find such a thing. it's a seriously badass magnet. neodymium, which, because in my working days i had a client that manufactured them, i know to be the strongest magnets known to man. i think one of the things keeping me from getting off the couch and using it is that i know on the first cast it will latch to some massive piece of metal and my purchase will forever be stuck at the bottom of whatever fetid shitwater hole i cast it into but we digress rip tom seavings

I guess I can assume that your pitch for the neodymium co. was an eager, bright-eyed neodymium purchaser latching on to the Lusitania, pulling with no luck, cutting the line and forlornly walking away, head down. Hence...you were in advertising.

He deserved a better thread than this Yankee-fan, over-the-shoulder nod and alphabet soup.
Unanimous HOF. Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls.

As for the rest, the alphabet soup right back at ya. If you took time from wringing your hands over orange man bad (as your city... and mine.. circles the bowl) you could have beaten me to it with a more reverent thread. Just a thought!

Time for Steve Cohen to have the team build a big statue of Tom Terrific outside Citi Field. The Wilpons couldnt get it right, at least honor him posthumously.

My mother worked for a bank and was doing a mortgage for Seaver. As they were filling out the forms, she asked for his weekly salary. I think he said $20,000. My mother had to do a double take.
