Back in ‘73, the Daily News put caricatures by Bruce Stark in the comics section. My grandparents lived in Brooklyn and collected them for us. I have all of them. My older brother took all of the mets and I took all of the Yankees. That’s how I became a Yankee fan. This isn’t mine but this is what the Seaver one looked like.

He deserved a better thread than this Yankee-fan, over-the-shoulder nod and alphabet soup. Unanimous HOF. Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls. Agreed on HOF, all time great. As for the rest, the alphabet soup right back at ya. If you took time from wringing your hands over orange man bad (as your city... and mine.. circles the bowl) you could have beaten me to it with a more reverent thread. Just a thought! Wow, that ^^^^^^sounded dickish re-reading it. Did not mean it that way...possibluh Here's a gift to atone; The music alone should make most baseball fans over 40 a little nostalgic.

It had to be blistering hot to get Seaver in short sleeves. I remember that. "Stay loose!"

My brother and me fought over John Milner, Cleon Jones and Felix Millan(?). I think they did Harrelson too. I also had a Joe Pepitone bat from Yankee Stadium Bat Day in 1970. I'm sure my father was scared witless by the spectacle there.

Where is Timmy? On another Board? I dont frequent any other boards tho I belong to JN. Havent heard any mention of him from those that do. He sort of disappeared after JI. I think his life was a little more chaotic than he let on, so I hope he's ok. One of my absolute faves. We once figured out we might be related, with ancestors from the same small area in Ireland..without exchanging names lol. Timmy and Tom two all time favorites

Real class. Mr. Lynch who lived across the street (NYPD PBA President Pat Lynch's dad) would take me to Met games at Shea whenever he had an extra ticket. Kinda wierd but I followed both teams for quite a while, lol.

My mom grew up at Lefferts and the El; so, being slightly familiar, I wished I could move to where the kids went to Shea Stadium every single day . Tell me the story about mr met and all his little mets, GEorge.
