If you have Optimum (channel 144, called 21ART) on Wednesday at 11pm watch " Grandpa's War Story Goes Viral". It's only an hour. It's about a 14 year old kid that enlisted during WWII. Derails below so if you're gonna watch dont read
Kid enlisted at 14, parachuted into Sicily at 15 and got wounded. The Army wrote a letter saying he was wounded. Mom writes Roosevelt saying WTF is this. Roosevelt writes back and says "Oops" and sends him home. Kid goes home, gets bored, and signs up for the Navy. Serves 6 months. Gets caught and kicked out again. Finishes up WWII serving in the merchant marine. Enlists at 18 goes to Korea for Chosin. In on the ground floor in Vietnam with Special Forces. Retires and goes to work for Air America. What a crazy life.

Watched Air Aces: Robin Olds on the American History Channel...AHC just now. Comes on again at 1am. Dont know if its on demand. Was about a fighter pilot in Vietnam. Was really good and one of the pilots talked about being canopy to canopy with a Mig21. Pretty sure Top Gun lifted his story. Def worrh a watch.

Queens Gambit: Weird girl plays chess and pops pills.
The Queen: early episodes are a great history lesson, awesome acting and production.
Who Killed The Miami Sound Machine: guy spends life trying to solve murder of bandmates, during “The Troubles”

The History channel is running Band of Brothers on Saturday. If you haven't seen it you should check it out. It was a great series about the 101st Airborne Division in WWII.

Tin Star: Tim Roth, Irish gangsters and Amish, everyone shooting each other. Queens Gambit: Weird girl plays chess and pops pills. The Queen: early episodes are a great history lesson, awesome acting and production. Who Killed The Miami Sound Machine: guy spends life trying to solve murder of bandmates, during “The Troubles” Finished Tin Star with the wife which was pretty good. 1st season great, 2nd a bit less. But Tim Roth kills it. We're in th process of watching The Crown based on Queen Elizabeth's life. Sounds boring but it's really well done and the actors are incredible. John Lithgow as Churchill is great. I'll check out Who killed the miami sound machine.. EDIT: So I've been searching for "Who Killed The Miami Sound Machine" and get nothing except Gloria Estefan articles...I'm guessing the real documentary is "The Miami Showband Massacre"? FF2 mixing up his music playlists and tv series.. |

So anyone ever watch BattleBots? Teams of nerds build robots to fight each other. It's on Discovery and they're running a marathon. It's pretty cool.
