I changed the title to include podcasts after Jetswin tip on the Gilgo Beach Killer podcast which was awesome. In the process of listening to The Dropout the story about Elizabeth Holmes who created Theranos. A company which was supposed to create a machine that could run over 100 blood tests with just a drop of blood. Raised billions of dollars with basically no product. She was only 20 when she started out, was able to hire brilliant people from medical field or tech (she had Jobs' right hand man at one point). She was able to convince Walgreens to deploy the machine when they had never seen it work. Really interesting. I read the book (Bad Blood). Fascinating. I haven't followed up on the ending to see if she ever got charged (incarceration) for her fraud.
Her trial is set for august of this year.

My recommendation (based on a limited foray into podcasts) Break in the Case; (Produced the NYPD) "Baby Hope" episode. I was turned on to it because I was working in the area at the time and I know alot of the players in this case. I thought it was well done (if you like true-crime stuff) and heart-breaking (especially if you have kids). Hooked. I am fascinated by any case where, with virtually no outside pressure or expectations, investigators with no connection to the original case keep the candle burning just because it was the right thing to do.

It's about a dude that has four wives. Who the fuck would want 4 wives? I guess it would be ok if they all looked hot in a different way and were kept in some manner of bullpen until needed. "Bring in the lefty" That sort of thing but no other way

"Bring in the lefty" That sort of thing but no other way I am assuming that they would all have to be submissive or things would be a nightmare. Imagine, you have 4 wives and their cycles line up. I am going fishing one week a month and I don't fish. Then think about the drama of 4 women in the household vying for attention. No thanks.

I read the description. Says something like ‘EMP weapon that may already be in the hands of our enemies’. Any nation with ballistic nukes has EMP. Detonate it in upper atmosphere above the target and that’s your EMP

The level of dedication and professionalism is remarkable. The Reznik guy ends up a Chief in another squad and keeps the case in his office decades later.. I'm on episode 3. Really good stuff.

Wasn't there a story about employees in the American embassy of Havana who were sent home with very bizarre symptoms? They heavily suspected an EMP attack

Funny thing, Reznik is an enormous prick. He was so hated, his own son left the Police Dept. to join the fire dept because he was so embarrassed. He was an enormous overtime hound when he was a cop and then as a Chief he became stingy with it. If I wanted to approve Overtime for one of my Detectives, even on an active shooting/homicide, I had to call him at home to ask him first. I avoided him like the plague, lol. You'd want him on a familiy members case though.
