He will be remembered fondly. Who is to say the prevent defense would have worked anyway? Our secondary blows.
We got a break yesterday.

They better not get motivated to win a game because of this. At least the Giants motivated the Seahawks so they don't sleep on the Jets

Thank you Gregg Williams! You were the only good thing in the Gase pathetic tenure. Thank you for your work in the tank building process sir.

Williams died so that the tank might live. God bless him.

Cimini reporting same.
Got a feeling he told someone to go fuck themselves. Lol.
Or, maybe they did him a solid in return for the good tank job and cut him loose to find his next gig. Everybody wins.

If you saw Maye's reaction after the game, its pretty clear he instantly lost the defensive team room with that play call.
Even the rookies were like "yeah, Im a rook so i cant say shit, but that was a shit play call"
Now, he probably did tell someone to go fuck themselves when questioned about it. Thats a safe bet.

What’s the point of firing Williams with 4 games to go?

Actually, I feel like we've been giving Williams way too much credit. The guy blitzes and plays man coverage. He's about as innovative on defense as Gase is on offense.
But as someone else said "don’t blitz on the last play of a game when you’re leading and a touchdown will cost you the game."
Here's the records of teams he's coached with, post-bountygate:
0-12 Jets 7-9 Jets 0-16 Browns 7-8-1 Browns 4-12 Rams 6-10 Rams 7-9 Rams 7-9 Titans
