Douglas isn’t taking a LT in the 1st round for the 2nd year in a row and pinning his career on Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton. He’s taking Fields. Fields isn’t flawless, but he’s a legitimate bluechip QB prospect who would go #1 overall in any other draft not featuring Trevor Lawrence. From your lips to god's ears.
I think he'll go Sewell but if he goes Fields, I guess I can understand the rationale.

We'll see but I think Sewell will be a Jet and our QB will be a FA Stop-Gap QB.
Joe D's past as an O-Lineman cannot be disregarded here.
He knows the domino-effect a Good O-line vs a Bad O-line has on not just the QB position but the Running game.

It's gonna be a QB at 2. Miami picks 3 and Atlanta picks 4. Most likely Miami goes Sewell and Atlanta goes QB. I wouldn't even bother trading with Atlanta because someone can then jump us by trading with Miami. Offer Miami a deal to move up 1 spot and secure Sewell for a small price and take the QB at 3. If they don't take the deal, QB at 2.

If the Jets don't get Sewell, then it's just pure mystery on whomever they draft later on in that round at OL.
Might as well throw darts on the board then 'cause nothing after Sewell at the OL position is a sure thing.

You can't really call Sam a faulty pick because he would've been picked by any other team at #3 also as he was the Consensus Top QB by a good number of teams at that draft.
I blame MacFucko for a ton of things but not Sam as he just fell into the Jets laps. It's the Jets fault for fucking up Sam beyond recognition.

For some reason every player always fell to MacFucko. Lenord Williams, Quinn’s Williams, Jamal Adams, Darnold. The top pick always fell to him - maybe because the other teams knew the williamses were busts (jury still out on quniean and Jamal was a good pick - even a broken clock is rite twice a day). I’m not saying MacFucko shouldn’t have drafted Darnold, but he’s a MacFucko selection and needs to go. He’s been MacFucko’d. Even Gase was kinda a MacFucko selection. The fact JD is connected to Gase in anyway makes me scared about his abilities. However, JD is not directly connected to MacFucko which leaves room for hope. |
