I’m sorry their son died, but how does this case have any merit? They are going to claim that Robinhood gave this kid level 4 options trading ability without any coin or experience to back it up. They were negligent in giving this kid that level of trading but how can you tie it into him killing himself?

By allowing him level four options trading it allowed him to lose huge sums of money, which he did. Most brokerages would not allow an inexperienced investor with little funds to even be able to execute the trades he did because the losses can be infinite.

Not sure if robinhood deserves credit for driving down fees for trades to 0, but beyond that i dont get the appeal.
For a novice like me, it seems theres plenty of better discount brokers like IBKR, fidelity, etc that offer more services and are far more reputable.
Why robinhood? What am I missing?
