This will go by well for Giants and Jets players, watching grass be put in then taken out for their season. Makes absolutely no sense. Yeah I don't get it either. You're a friggin Billionaire, why wouldn't you put grass? It costs more? Given how fucked up a season can get with just one injury wouldn't you want to put all your chances on one side?? Yes I know 2 teams play at Met life, that's 18 games over 365 days. Pretty sure it can be done. This is the new Real Madrid field removal system. Woody can't pay for this?? This is called protecting your players and maximizing performance

My guess is the government. Who oowns it and how much do they lose each year operating it?

I get what you're saying but the NFL generates billions,.the owners are billionaires...look at this year: no Rodgers, no Burrows, no Herbert, no Cousins..it's bad for business

For most of the owner scumbags it's all about the Benjamins and fuck everything else. The bill for grass in an open stadium in the NE US is not trivial and who can definitively say the artificial field was responsible for an injury? Shit happens. They (the owners) are gambling but it's not with their body, just the employees. If they win, it's good. If they lose, it's tax deductible.

I know it was retrofit in Spain and it would obviously be one here but what if there are other factors we arent considering like the foundation, the fact that MetLife is built on a swamp, etc. Outside of the retractable field I dont think grass is viable since the field would be used every week in NY weather. I remember the old grass at Giants Stadium and it was slop later in the year. A couple rain games and you are throwing down sod patches that dont take and the grass starts coming up like a bad rug. MetLife was doomed from the start. Woody and Mara/Tisch couldnt agree on anything and it was built during the financial crisis which probably led to cost-cutting. Should have had a roof at the very least. 1.6 billion in 2010 for that ugly air conditioner.

It looks like it was built on the cheap.

At least 1/2 of NJ is beautiful just nowhere near the stadium.

PSG went and poached some dude from premier league a while back and the Paris stadium has arguably one of the best fields in Europe.

Back to the choice of Met Life, can't imagine the kind of money/bribes involved to choose Met Life over some of the other state of the art stadiums built these last few years.

Th On the top European teams the gardners are one of the best paid people on the staffs. PSG went and poached some dude from premier league a while back and the Paris stadium has arguably one of the best fields in Europe. Who owns and operates that stadium? Does it make money or is it state funded and taxpayers are paying the freight? It's all about who is paying the bills and who is receiving the revenues, if any. Sports club owners (all of them) have no problem getting a great venue for little to no cost. Meanwhile the bourgeoisie is paying the burdensome taxes required to support something that has absolutely nothing to do with business of governing. It makes good press for government to identify with a winning team so they happily fund these abominations hoping to hit the jackpot if a championship ever happens. Want to see what the fans get if the owners have to pay the actual cost of supporting these venues? Even with state funded stadium properties, the owners are not putting a dime into them and are bleeding off every last cent they can.
