Unfortunately, this is old news that's having to be brought to the forefront due to lack of interest/coverage. Pro MTBer Kyle Warner was one of the first to talk about how he tasted something metallic (saline) after one of his shots, and then subsequently developed myocarditis. Best practice used to be aspiration prior to administration of an intramuscular injection; that is no longer the case. Not all people taste/smell saline either, so you can't even bank on it as an indicator for an adverse reaction. We (medical field) killed people with our lack of knowledge/common sense during Covid. Now we are killing them again in our hubris. Horrendous. |
