I was driving around 4pm and missed what he was saying behind the mouth-breathing garbledness.
BUT is sounded like he was saying the Jets should give up a draft pick to get the Bear's QB - and it didn't quite sound like he meant Jay Cutler - but he CAN'T possibly mean us trading picks for Jimmy Clausen or David Fales ?!?!?!
Anyone catch it?

Guess Fatsessa is reading posts on The Hampur because we already discussed it.

Incarcerated Bob started some rumor about us being interested in trading for Glennon earlier.
Obviously I don't trust that fucking idiot, but as I stated a week or so ago, I'd be totally in favor of trading a conditional 5th round pick for Glennon.

Well then I completely misunderstood him. But, yeah, that's not a bad idea at all (as many have discussed). Frankly, I don't quite get why TB soured on Glennon so quickly. he had some awesome throws and not a ton of bonehead plays in the games I saw.

Lovey fell in love with his guy, brought him along for the ride. That didn't work out so well. I'd be up for trading a late round pick for him.

Glennon was brought in the year before Lovie took over. Lovie, unimpressed with the tape on Glennon, brought in Josh McCown whom he had a one-year-wonder with in Chicago - we all know how that turned out. I wanted Glennon in the draft over G Nope and EJ Manuel but in truth all three of them suck footballs.
If Tampa Bay drafts Winston/Mariota, the obvious person to trade on the roster is Glennon since over 5 million is committed to McCown and I doubt any one going to trade for him with that cap figure. Glennon lost his job in week ten, going 1 and 4 in five starts. Not particularly inspiring.
We need to draft another qb have a hold the fort guy that he can compete with. I don't see Glennon being a huge improvement. Glennon is more effective on the deep ball. Geno more effective short. Josn McGown is ranked 28th using his small sample size (5 games) in 2014. Geno Smith is ranked 29th in 2014.
Do we really think this is a brave step forward for the new front office ?

I liked Glennon for the Jets also when he came out, really have no argument with the idea of trading for him.

While not a long term solution... We would be better off signing Ryan Mallet in FA than giving a pick up for Glennon.... Draft Sean Manion in the 4th or 5th round and develop him....

imo the only not to consider glennon is that he's not an athletic qb. i suspect the jets will want a mobile qb and geno is probably better. but glennon is taller has a great arm. can he read defenses? does he know how to spike the ball to avoid a sack?

I think the Jets need to acquire multiple QBs. Trade some low picks for marginal guys, draft some guys and sign some free agents. When there is nobody good available try bringing in any warm body to compete with Geno.
