After marching in the parade, the Pipe Band and the Emerald Society have a big party on a pier on the west side of Manhattan, where the band plays again. I'm standing with a bunch of Pipers having a beer when we hear a buzz coming from the entrance area. We glance over and it's Sarah Palin, Ron Duguay (ex-Ranger) and Jeff Nelson (ex-Yankee) all arriving together. Totally bizarro trio. They immediately began slamming beers and chomping on hero's. Then they spoke/posed with anyone who wanted a pic. Funny as sh*t, only in NYC moment.

He towered over Duguay who is not a small dude. We were all trying to figure out how a 65 year old dude (Duguay) can slam beers like a sailor on shore-leave and still look 20 years younger while we all look like fat-bastards. What did Palin look like? Her cans specifically. Skinny, I'll give her that. I didnt notice cans. All the old dudes I was with were in love. She kinda looked embalmed to me, but Duguay was all over her. They are obviously a couple. The Jeff Nelson thing still kinda confounds me, lol. Either way, they had a ball and ended up marching with the band. "M'urica"? |
