I'm legit in tears right now. Was/am a lifelong Parrothead and saw him EVERY time he came to NY, be it Jones Beach or MSG. Mutual love of Buffett was one of the first things wifne and I bonded on when we first met.
Very polarizing dude - witness the South Park episode where Cartman accidentally gets AIDS (lol) and Elton John cancels Cartman's benefit event, so they get Jimmy Buffet instead and Cartman is like "Fuck you, Jimmy Buffett!" But he also covered acts like the Dead and CSNY in shows, so he was a good shit.
This one will sting for a while, but, as Hampurites do, RIHSB.

Learned a LOT of his tunes on guitar as people would ask to hear it. As an entrepreneur, he was unsurpassed. RIP. Playing Jimmy Buffet radio on my SONOS system all day since 5:30 AM when I woke. |
