Not saying he was trying to slice the guys throat but he clearly raises his leg in an effort to impede. I see people saying he lost his balance. But IMO he lost his balance because he lifted his leg.
Adam Johnson died from his injuries. I cant remember a player ever being charged for something that occurred in a game. This seems criminal to me.

My God that is so sad and horrendous.
Looks so very intentional to me.
RIP.

Jesus, that was rough to watch. Got Clint Malarchuk flashbacks. Looks deliberate, but I'm sure the guy didn't intend to kill him, so manslaughter? Either way, just yuck.

That will be replayed many times to ascertain his intent. Lots of lawyers gonna make some big bucks off this one.

Is there a way to save someone with a severed artery like that? How did that goalie survive?
That was tough to watch. RIP

Used to be fascinated with gory stuff like that. Now, I cant. Cant even watch replays of players getting hurt. Didnt watch this either. If it was on purpose, fuck that guy. Hockey players know more than anyone else what skates can do.

Intentional. 100%. Known dirty player doing dirty shit.
Intended to kill? Doubtful. At best negligent and needs to serve a long time.
Just disgusting the blatant disregard for the well-being of another player. See this kind of garbage too often. Amazing that leagues/players:coaches allow countless escalating dirty play until something like this happens. Crazy.

Whatever the Canadian equivalents are. I doubt he intended to kill him but he did intend to leg whip him. I think this happens bc they have basically removed the "enforcers" from the sport. Just like baseball. The players used to take care of things themselves. You hit our guy, we hit yours. Everyone understood it and people rarely crossed the line. Now you got one or two crazy guys in each sport that are just dirty and everyone else is supposed let the league handle it. Looks like the original tweet got deleted. Guy was probably getting harassed and threatened.

Hockey players know more than anyone else what skates can do. My older sopne is friends with former Islander Dennis Seidenberg's kid. For someone who played defense and was somewhat of an enforcer, very weak handshake. Very limp. But yeah, hockey players are the biggest badasses in all sports.

Play it at full speed, not a microsecond at a time, and tell me you think the dude kicked his skates out while getting hit on purpose, was a conscious effort, in a half of a split second? None of you could think that quick.

(When I read this, I feel like I am reading a WCO post. Mebbe.) I think it’s too hard to tell from a physics stand point if he just went to throw his body into Johnson, and because of the previous contact and his intent to try to change his trajectory it caused his legs to go up. if you think about it from a gymnastics perspective, using you legs in the air to change your direction is pretty common. If you’re moving and get upended ass over teakettle, your arms and legs are doing wacky shit

I do not think he intended to slice and dice the guy; I do think he intended to kick the guy. That is what it seems like to me. I only watched the replay once. Unfortunately, he executed a perfect storm of nasty.

None of you could think that quick. You are arguing with imaginary people bc I dont think I have seen anyone here make that argument. I think he loses his balance after he lifts his leg in an effort to slow Johnson down. As a result his leg went up higher than he intended. Tragic but potentially criminal in my opinion regardless of intent. Intent gets you to murder. Stupidity, carelessness is manslaughter-esque. Im sure the guy feels terrible about it. Doesnt change the circumstances.
