Hope Everyone has a great 2024. Perhaps Rodgers lasts more than 4 plays.

i got failing at all my new years resolutions out of the way early today. before noon, i think that's a record
now i can focus the rest of the year on not growing or changing or evolving as a human in any way possible
focus is the key

Wifne and I swear to a dry January every year. The longest I've ever made it is January 17th. We're drinking champagne now.

(Hint, he was a cawp and plays in the bagpipe band) So we had to go play bagpipes at his swearing in today and went to the Saloon afterwards. Drink may have been taken. Tomorrow is day one. Fingers crossed. Mebbe possibly.

I don’t get it. Yes. Been to many AA meetings. Hasn't stuck, but I've curtailed it significantly. Gone from sneakily cracking beers (high ABV IPA's) at 8am to not starting until 6pm. It's been a battle. Came clean to wifne back in June and she's completely supportive. Real roller coaster, but managing. Just gotta keep the right mindset.

Different when your wifne and 13 year old daughter come down to the basement and find you passed out on the couch at 3pm on a Tuesday. That was fun. But yeah, I've been so much better. AA was helpful at first, but it's very religiously cultish. Also, atheists don't do well with religious stuff, so... I'm at a place where I can control much of it, but still need to check myself and say "Get that thought out of your head" because it'll make things worse. Again, came clean to wifne and she's been amazing. Definitely outkicked my coverage in more ways than one.

We both work from home and she was like "You seemed out of it" when we met up for lunch. Then the basement couch pass-out happened and she was like "What the fuck!?" and I said "I need help" and she completely we went into wifne mode, found an AA meeting for me right away. After six weeks I told her it wasn't for me and she was cool. Then my "older brother" died - guy who I grew up with, best man at my wedding - and I hit the bottle again. Wifne allowed me to slip , but kept me in check/reality. Was in a bad place, still am, but wifne has been a rock. I said in a previous post that I outkicked my coverage in many ways and I was not exaggerating.

BTW, an alarm bell just went off in my head. We are all in an AA meeting here that encourages drankin...without tight cunts, coffee and prayers. How'd I miss this all these barren years here.
Just knock out the drankin?
