Supposedly he isn't even honoring his word. If this is true I can't put a lot of blame on Douglas... I don’t blame Douglas for making the trade Reddick and his agent flat out lied to him. I will blame Douglas if he signs this guy for three years and $75 million. He’s a 30 year old pass rusher and every year you can find 3 ten sack guys that are available for about $10 million a year. I think the key is we have Jermain Johnson and Will McDonald who can both start so this isn't the end of the world. I also think they will get this resolved before the season but it is a distraction. What I have more of a problem with is letting JFM and Huff leave in favor of a potential headache. |

I think he's scheduled to make $14.5M this season, any idea what he wants? Probably, north of $25M a year, 3 years $75M? I think the Jets will do right by him if he performs as expected this season, but this sets a bad precedent. Additionally, the Jets will need to get some other people paid in the coming years so it's a balancing act for them. I get he is trying to exert leverage and I guess I'm old fashion but honor the contract then address what fair value is next year. Supposedly he isn't even honoring his word. That being said, if Reddick sits out the month of September, it costs him $1.5M in fines which cannot be waived. I don't think he or his agent are that dumb. |
