What I never understood is that his fans always seemed smitten with him because of his coverage skills first and foremost.
Who really gives a shit?
If I'm taking a DE/OLB that high in the draft, then I'm concerned about his ability to get to the QB above all else.

What about Mingo? How has he done? Not great, but better than Jordan -- and the Browns didn't trade up to get him. Mingo was at least a starter for the Browns most of the season -- Jordan's only career start came in week 17 against the Jets. |

I never understood why he went so high. His coverage skills matter because he is in no way, shape or form a traditional DE especially in a 4-3. He really isnt even a true 3-4OLB in the Steelers OLB-type sense. The best way to use jordan is actually in a way how rex used coples. Play him in a rush role sometimes, play him split out bumping a WR sometimes, and move him around in space. Jamie Collins on the pats is a similar and BB uses him really well as a rusher and in coverage. If the Phins want to give up on him, I would love to take a chance on this guy and use him properly in space, chasing down plays while also rushing from the edge. Great athlete - and he is being used so incorrectly that its tough to judge if he is a bad player or not. |
