Morning Jets fans....
Not much to report today, although this
day in 2000 Bill Belicheat started his
Reign as head coach of the Patriots, after
Quitting as Jets HC. Since then, the
Patriots succeeded by playing outside the
rules of the game. No question.

Getting a little bit ahead of yourself Bing. Today is January 27 -- not 28. On this date in 1987, Don Maynard was voted into the Hall of Fame -- becoming just the 3rd Jet to receive this honor after Namath and Ewbank.
Related to your post above, on this date in 2000, Paul Tagliabue and a federal judge ruled that BBs contract as HC of the NYJ was valid. As a result, Bill Parcells and Bob Kraft negotiated a compensation package that allowed Belidick to begin his reign as Head Coach of the New England Patriots.

So then today would be the anniversary of BB's telephone call with Bob Krafty where he was told that if he could get out of his contract with the Jets, he would be hired as the HC of the NEP. Funny, how their relationship actually began with an episode of "cheating". |
