1968 Super Bowl III We all know the story. Joe guaranteed the win and the Jets D led the way. MVP Joe Namath New York Jets (16) at Baltimore Colts (7)The Third AFL-NFL World Championship Game (Super Bowl III) New York Jets at Baltimore Colts — January 12, 1969 Orange Bowl In addition to being one of the greatest sporting events in history, this may just be the greatest game program in Super Bowl history. It's also notable for being the only Super Bowl program to depict the two participating teams on the cover. Historical accuracy note: Jersey #43 for Baltimore in 1968 was cornerback Lenny Lyles. Don Maynard (WR) was #13 for the Jets in '68. ScoringQuarter | Team | Play | NYJ | BAL | 2nd | Jets | Matt Snell 4 yard rush (Jim Turner kick) | 7 | 0 | 3rd | Jets | Jim Turner 32 yard field goal | 10 | 0 |
| Jets | Jim Turner 30 yard field goal | 13 | 0 | 4th | Jets | Jim Turner 9 yard field goal | 16 | 0 |
| Colts | Jerry Hill 1 yard rush (Lou Michaels kick) | 16 | 7 |
Namath 17 of 28 for 206 yards NO TDs or INTs Jets D forced 3 INTS and a Fumble recovery to win the game.

1968 Week 14 Namath goes 13 of 23 for 193 2 TDs and an Int before Babe Parilli finishes the game for the Jets going 7 of 15 for 80 yards and a TD. Cincinnati Bengals (14) at New York Jets (27) — December 8, 1968 Shea Stadium I had this same picture (or something very similar) as a poster in my room in the early -mid 70's, along with one in a similar style with the Raiders and the Jets.
