Close competitive game, an opportunity to take a look at some young guys, a late loss to keep in the Draft-A-QB hunt.
Gotta think long term at 2-9.

While the games are on, I can never root for the Jets to lose. But once the emotion is gone and we're left with reason, I agree with your sentiment. One step closer to passing on Marcus Mariota. Yay!

Agreed. I was quite ambivalent on this game. I enjoyed watching the Jets run through the Dolphins like butter for a while, but knew it would eventually catch up with them. You can't be that one-dimensional against a decent team and expect to win unless you get a serious turnover boost. On a side note, I was wondering if Nick Folk was trying to make sure we get a good QB. I've never seen him miss like that. Geno was like a baby in diapers the whole game. They wouldn't let him throw the ball to save his life/career. Really sad to watch.

Enjoyed the game, competitive, close fought, could have gone either way ... luckily Nick Folk kept us in the Draft hunt.
I'm thinking the Jets win two of the next four games, I can't see them loosing to Tennessee and they are likely to squeak a win against Minnesota or the the last game of the season to eliminate the Dolphins. I can't see them beating the Patriots with Geno starting, no starting caliber cornerbacks and our special team play going down the toilet.

Agreed....they competed, but at the end of the day, an L was the result. Best case scenario given where we are...
There's completely no reason to win another game this season.....2-14 should be the FO's goal(players and coaches will never lay down)

It's in our best longterm interest to lose out.
Winning that meaningless game against KC in 2007 dropped us from 3rd in the draft order to 6th and was the difference between Matt Ryan and Vernon Gholston.
Lose the fuck out and draft Mariota for Christs sake.

Once you get outside the top 5 the cost really goes up.

If that's the case, we might as well forget about Mariota and start focusing on Cooper, Parker, White, Scherff, Fowler, etc.

That sucks, 4-12 could potentially be the 7th or 8th pick.

I'm a Tampa/Oakland/Jax/Tenn fan the rest of the season....
The Jets will take care of the rest themselves sadly...

They're virtually guaranteed the #1 overall pick. If we want Mariota, we just have to hope that they take someone like Leonard Williams/Randy Gregory/Andrus Peat or trade the pick to us. Jacksonville could be in play for a trade as well at #2. If Tampa ends up picking at #2, then we're pretty much fucked on the Mariota front unless we get the #1 pick from Oakland.
