How does a guy like Anthony Boone get invited over Rakeem Cato? My guess is because he played for David Cutcliffe and there is a little more interest in him by the scouting community than there is in Cato right now. Personally I don't think you can really learn anything about a QB at the combine, except his height, weight and hand size.

My guess is because he played for David Cutcliffe and there is a little more interest in him by the scouting community than there is in Cato right now. Personally I don't think you can really learn anything about a QB at the combine, except his height, weight and hand size. The interview is important too. I guess I'm just a big believer in "players". I'm less concerned with what a player does in a glorified fitness test than in what they've proven they can do on a football field. I call it the Doug Flutie paradox. Doug Flutie was a winner who performed well on any team with a reasonable amount of talent, but GM's and HC's were so obsessed with his size that his opportunities were few and far between. Whenever Flutie's name is mentioned to Mike Ditka, he laments over what could have been if Flutie had been given a real opportunity to play in his prime in the NFL, rather than the CFL.
