February 18, 1984:
The Jets trade Richard Todd to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for the 15th overall pick in the 1984 Draft. With the 15th pick, the Jets would select Ron Faurot, DE from the University of Arkansas. Faurot played for 2 seasons with the Jets, but he struggled with the transition from DE in college to outside LB in the Jets 3-4 scheme and was released during the 1985 season. After being released by the Jets, he signed with the Chargers where he suffered a career ending knee injury in practice. He never played in another game after being released by the Jets.

Ron Fauroceous --- LOL. This is the kind of guy who was lucky to play before Jets fans had the Internet.

One item that we missed last year.
February 18, 2002
The date of the Houston Texans expansion draft. The Jets left 5 players unprotected in the draft: CB Marcus Coleman, CB Aaron Glenn, DT Shane Burton, S Chris Hayes and OT Ryan Young. It surprised many writers that the Jets left Glenn exposed. He was a 2-time pro bowl corner still in his prime who led the Jets in interceptions in 2001. The Jets were counting on his age (30) and contract (he was due $8.0 million in 2002) to prevent Houston GM Charley Casserly from selecting him. The Jets gamble didn't work as Glenn was one of three Jets selected along with Coleman and Young. The Jets were one of two teams to lose 3 players (Jacksonville was the other).
