He impressed the hell out of me the past 2 days and I want him for the Jets. Seems like he is perfect for NY.
The assumption I'm going to make is that his background checks out to be nothing more than stupid kid stuff and that the rape allegation isn't legit.
Assuming there are no red flags when the Jets do his background check (I know, a big assumption), and he isn't drafted at #1 (another big assumption), would you guys be willing to trade up as high as #2 or #3 to get him? Let's say a swap of this year's #1s and a #1 next year to move up. Would you do it?
At this point, I think I would.

For JUST the 2016 first round pick, I probably do that. That's what I was suggesting. Swap #6 for #2 or #3 this year and give up our #1 next year to do so. |

It all boils down to the rape incident for me. I don't care about the crab legs or the cafeteria. I did much worse stuff than that in college. On-the-field he checks at 100%. I really liked his session with Mariucci.
If the rape thing turns out to be BS then I would be willing to give up a #1 for him. Nobody is going to care about the first rounder when we have a QB for the next 10 years.

I don't see Tampa passing on Winston, so you'd be trying to trade up to pick #1 to take Winston and the Bucs can always shut down the negotiations (much like the Jets could do with the Eagles if Mariota is on the clock at #6).

I've been a Winston guy from day 1. If it takes a 1 next season to get him I think I do it....
The rape allegations was my only concern about him this entire time....if he's past those allegations and nothing will come of them, I could care less about the minor kiddie shit he did while in college FFS! Let a vet take him under the wing in the locker room and let's go to work!
