What are your guys thoughts?
I've admittedly only looked at his highlight reels, but I absolutely love the way he attacks the ball in the air and catches tons of contested throws. He reminds me a little of Alshon "We drafted Stephen Hill instead" Jeffrey. His combine was very strong though it seems that he plays a bit slower than he timed.
I would absolutely love to see him there in the 2nd round when we pick. At worst I think he'd be an awesome red zone thread. What say you guys?

I'm a fan
Would definitely be on my short list at the top of the 2nd round if he's still available and we go QB/OLB in the 1st.

I love him and agree with Untouchable. If we don't take a WR in round one I'd be delighted to draft him in round 2. Unfortunately I don't think he makes it to our 2nd pick. I can see a little bit of Alshon Jeffery in him, but I think Jeffery is a little smoother athlete. To me he's more of a Jordy Nelson type WR. He'd a good athlete, but he's not explosive and can sometimes struggle to gain separation. However, he's physical and if he can improve his route running I don't see that being a problem. He's also a hard worker and seems like a great kid.

Lots to like with Strong. He tested better than I thought he would, faster and much higher vertical. Add him to the likes of Parker, White and DGB as another big body, huge catch radius guy. I don't think he lasts till the second round. Lots of teams in the bottom third of this draft that could use a guy like Strong.

It matters with a 5'10" receiver, but with these bigger guys it's not as important IMO. Being able to win those 50/50 balls in man coverage is the most important thing. The windows in the NFL are small to begin with and rarely are guys running wide open unless there is a blown coverage.

He's shown the ability to go up and win 50/50 balls and he's also really good at boxing out the defender. As I've said many times this year. I think he was the best WR in college at catching the back shoulder fade. That should make him a big threat in redzone at the next level.

He's also a hard work and seems like a great kid. That's a great assessment of him. When i watched him, i didn't quite see elite separation and domination, but that doesn't mean he's not a legit #1 WR on someone's roster. I expect him to be drafted between 19 (CLE) and NE at the bottom of the round. There's a whole generation of WRs that are presently fading into the night (Wayne, A. Johnson, S. Smith, Fitz, VJax, R. White, Colston, Marshall etc) and while last year was a John Holmes money shot, there's still plenty of demand for franchise WRs. There's a quite a few teams with no true #1, (or they asking a #2 to fill those shoes)... MIA, SD, OAK, SF, SEA, KC, CLE, MIN, BAL, CAR -- will all be looking for a major player at the position again this year. These guys will be coming off the board like hot cakes after last year; DGB Cooper Parker White Strong Agholor Hardy Perriman Funchess Coates Smith Lockett Greene Dorsett McBride That's the list i expect to be gone by round 4. Might a couple that slide a touch, but those guys are all day 1-2 selections.

Man, I forgot all about this draft section. Let's go!
We better be in on 1 of these WRs this time.

I could see someone falling in love with Smelters size. That's why we can't wait again like last year.

The only problem with Strong is that he's not worth the 6th overall and will be gone by the time our second round pick comes up. The only realistic chance of him being a Jet is if we move down in the first.

Tony Pauline has been saying the Jets are all over Phillip Dorsett; one thing is clear we'll be drafting WR within the first 3 rounds - ideally we could trade out of the 6th pick if Mariotta is there and our FO think he's not worth the pick. That's probably the only scenario in which we get Strong. If we use the 6th pick, but not on a WR, a Dorsett would be much more likely for us in the 2nd or 3rd.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still hoping we find someone willing to trade into our spot, get another first or second and give ourselves a shot at one of these stud receivers and an additional player.
