Taken from Walterfootball. I think Petty will get drafted much higher than most are predicting.
Quarterback Bryce Petty looked really solid today and was on the mark with most of his throws. And while that's usually the case with pro-day workouts, the creativity of quarterback coach George Whitfield leant to the cause.
Petty took snaps from underneath center, was forced to throw over and around about a handful of long (6-foot, plus) tackling dummies placed in front of him and had to watch out as Whitfield chased him with a broom.
Histrionics aside, Petty was very accurate with most of his throws, and except for a few deeper routes, did not have receivers waiting on the pass or twisting to grab errant throws.

Anyone catch this? Any thoughts on the player? Taken from Walter Football: Results are still coming in on the N.C. State pro day, but early returns say offensive tackle Tyson Chandler was the big winner. The massive blocker measured 6-7 1/4, 330 pounds, down 28 pounds from his playing weight last season. His arm measured 36 1/2 inches and his wingspan an incredible 88 inches. Chandler's marks included 31 reps on the bench, a 28-inch vertical jump, a 9-4 broad jump and a 40 time around 5.25 seconds. He looked incredibly athletic during position drills for such a large lineman. In fact, most said Chandler was the best offensive lineman in attendance and not Rob Crisp. Chandler was smooth and easily flipped his hips in drills. Scouts commended Chandler on his conditioning, and long-time Oakland Raiders scout and former lineman Mickey Marvin heaped praise on him. Chandler will be working out for the New York Jets in a few weeks. Read more at walterfootball.com/proday.php#gm7QCY78jpbMXI6l.99

He is not even ranked in the top 50 OTs by CBS -- although it sounds like he probably will be soon.

Now who is going to pull the trigger in the mock draft based on these posts?

We're drafting a QB. No clue who or in which round but it's clear we're going to take one. Petty or Grayson wouldn't surprise me but I think Round 2 is too early for them, especially with the Jets picking so high in the round.

I'm just asking cause it reads like "this just in...", wondering what made you feel that way. It seems like there's a fairly constant drumbeat, even if it's a quiet one, that the Jets FO and coaches are looking at QBs in the lead-up to the Draft. It may just be due diligence but they're going to all the pro days, had the private workout for Mariota that seemed to include everyone in the organization down to the secretary. They look to be one of 11 teams that are evaluating Grayson, etc. It just seems to me that the Jets aren't only looking at the Top 2 guys in case one falls to them as a potential new starter here in 2015, but they're interested in potential depth guys or projects. Fitzpatrick is a one-year backup in my eyes. I could see a potential QB roadmap that looks like... 1. Mariota, Geno, Fitzpatrick (with a true QB competition in camp and potentially having Mariota sit behind one of the other two for the first 8 weeks before getting a chance to start) 2. Geno, Fitzpatrick, Grayson or Petty (with either Geno or Fitz starting and Grayson watching for a year. 2016 becomes an open Camp competition between Geno and Grayson and Geno potentially is the backup in his final year of his rookie contract) Again, we have no idea how it will shake out but it just looks and smells like the Jets intend to take a QB somewhere in this Draft. You could argue that the Jets are interested in either an immediate starter type (like Mariota COULD be) or that they want to buy a lottery ticket in someone like Grayson, Petty, even Hundley somewhere later in the draft and try to see what they can turn him into with a 12 months of coaching, watching, non-game development. But its seems that whether it's QB1 or QB3 they want to add a QB to the depth chart through the Draft. JMHO.

Not a pro day update but worth noting because the Jets met with Williams....
