Nice....glad he never teamed up with the ground and pound turkey neck. That might be the best part of this. You know Rex was up there absolutely counting on getting Harris. Probably already had the flight booked so he could be on his doorstep at midnight on the 10th. Fuck rex

Gotta spend the money. They're going to front load cash these next 2 years to reach the 89% threshold. Which will make them very attractive in FA. Money up front always wins out over money on the back end. Especially in the NFL where the back end mean you get fucked in the back end.

Big contract though for a 31 year old no?
We just wiped what nearly 14 mil off our cap in 3 hours?

That should be re-signs rather than resigns. "David Harris resigns with Jets" sounds like he is retiring from the Jets.

Pay a little extra to keep a team leader coveted by a division rival. Essentially a 2 year deal. He has 2 years left of solid football. Lots of people will only focus on the over paying, even though the Marshall/Harvin swap likely negates any over payment to Harris, and we didn't create another hole at WR or LB in the process.

But they're rewarding home grown talent showing some loyalty and they HAVE to spend this money over the next two years. Sure DH is not going to the hall of fame but why chance losing s solid piece of the defense because they only wanted to gurantee $10 mil instead of $15.
