Well guys it looks like the Jets are all in on Revis. If we beat out the pats to sign him then nab Chris Culliver as our #2, I think that would be a very solid tandem for the NY Jets. I love Cro but I think we need to get younger in our secondary so we have sustained success, Revis is older but he is just on another planet and will be good for at least the next 3 years because of his smarts and his coverage skills. Next would be the slot corner....any thoughts?

I'd sign for that double. Agree on Cro, especially if he's looking for a top dollar deal.

You realize we also have Milliner and McDougle?

You realize we also have Milliner and McDougle? This. I'd be happier with Cro (paired with Culliver) and the Revis money going towards the OL (yes, I know we have a ton of $$ to spend).

You realize we also have Milliner and McDougle? You do realize that both have missed more games than they've played ?

McDougle is going to be a huge surprise this year. Everybody is sleeping on him because he was injured all last season, but I just get the vibe that this guy is going to come out and solve a lot of the Jets CB woes. He's not a flashy name, but when you look at the college tape, he's got good physical tools and plays smart. I can see a guy like Bowles doing a really good job with him. And if we get Revis back, who better than to teach this guy along the way.

Better for him to compete for the slot corner and progress from there. Milliner is done IMO.

Once he is released we will see what other teams are in play.

It's unfortunate that we need to make decisions at CB before the new staff can really get in and work with Milliner and McDougle to assess what we have, particularly in McDougle.
I'm not convinced we are "all in" on Revis. He is a desirable asset but his history of negotiation tactics here may make the new front office reconsider bringing him back for more than a short term deal.

Right, since he does not have an expiring contract they can't even trade numbers and interest with his jackass agents...at least officially. Woody should have fired Idzik on the spot for not trying hard to sign revis last off season. Also, if we do manage to pry him away, Kraft is going to use all his influence on goodell to screw us on the tampering charge. And it'll work.

Official start of the league year is tomorrow, if Revis is still on the roster and he hasn't restructured, the 20M kicks in. So NE still has roughly 24 more hours to negotiate with Revis.

Thanks -- that's what I thought, but I heard someone on the radio this AM say that they had to make the decision today.
