Yes, the Jets are showing interest in Cromartie and his old running mate, Darrelle Revis. As much as he'd enjoy a reunion, Cromartie doesn't think it's financially feasible for the Jets to afford him and Revis. "At the end of the day, you can't pay two corners," Cromartie said on ESPN's "First Take." "You got one guy [Revis] that's probably looking for $16 million, another one is looking a bit higher than everyone is expecting him to get. How can you pay two guys at that level? "You can say either/or. I do consider him the best corner in the NFL. For myself, I feel like I'm one of the best also. So yes, putting us together, like it was from 2010-12, would be great. But is it financially logical? And does any organization want to put that much money into a secondary?" Judging from Cromartie's comments, he's looking for a lot more than the $3.5 million he made last season on a one-year contract with the Cards. He played well, so he wants a raise. You have to figure he's seeking something similar to Cary Williams' reported deal with the Seattle Seahawks -- three years, $18 million. Williams and Cromartie are at similar stages of their stage -- both are 30 years old -- although Cromartie is a better player, in my opinion. espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/49742/can-jets-afford-a-cromartie-revis-reunion-cro-doubts-it

I'd like Cro back but we need to start treading carefully now. We still need to add some players on offense at RB, maybe another OG, and we need a FS. With $70M to Revis and $25M to Skrine I can't see us emptying $18M into Cromartie's pocket too.

If the fucking plan is Geno for another year They better seriously consider putting up a stonewall back there and thats as close as it gets. Ala sanchez

cromartie move to fs would be SICK! and pryor in the box I almost wonder if we would...that'd be three starting CBs signed in one day. Would be kind of odd if we paid that much for Skrine just for him to play nickel back. Plus then what happens to Milliner and McDougle in all of this? Trades? VERY interesting

Maybe if we got Skrine for less money but considering that we didn't, I'm inclined to pass.

I love Cro and I'm all for it, even after adding Revis and Skrine. You can never have enough CB's and I know Bowles will use them. Play Skrine primarily in the nickel/slot, which sounds to be his strong suit. I imagine they won't cap tie themselves to Cro further than 2 years down the road, much like these other signings. I have zero faith in Milliner ever staying healthy, but at least McDougle can hopefully develop behind these guys and be ready to step up as a starter in a couple years if they need to cut bait with one or both of Revis/Cro.

I'd rather we put more money into the offensive line. It's still pretty shaky.

cromartie is asking for 6 but he's probably going to go for a lot less. he played well but he also has a rep that he needs to overcome. he'll probably go 4.5 m per year for 3 years or so.

Ian Rapoport ✔ @rapsheet Follow The #Jets are the clear leader for the services of Antonio Cromartie, and the expectation is he signs there. Revis the recruiter. 6:42 AM - 11 Mar 2015
