I think I prefer next year's class to be honest. Hackenberg, Cook and Jared Goff look like legit pro prospects. I haven't seen Sudfeld out of Indiana, but I have read some nice things about him. Cardale Jones, OTOH, I would stay far away from.

I not sure about that, people always think next years QB class is better this time of year. None of those guys will grade out as high as Winston, and probably not even as high as Mariotta. Last year was a deep QB class and had a few nice prospects for teams who didn't want to use a high pick on a QB. I don't see those options this year.

Hackenberg had an awful year and I don't understand the love for Cook. Personally I think Cook sucks. One guy I like next year who doesn't seem to get much fanfare is Gunner Kiel from Cincy... he was impressive the few games I've watched him play and fits the mold of a NFL QB.

2015
I like Connor Cook, but I wouldn't put him above Winston or Mariota.
Hackenberg looks the part from a physical standpoint, but was essentially dogshit last year.
I think people have really been overrating Goff.

Odds are next year we win 5 or even six game, which will make it more costly to move up in the draft.

Hackenberg was dogshit last year, but Carson Palmer also had a couple of so-so seasons before rebounding as a senior and he still wound up going number 1.

Hackenberg's overhead throwing motion and release remind me of Brady. I like his potential and arm talent more than anyone this year or next.

What's the word on Nate Sudfeld? I've read some good things about him, but I can't find video anywhere on him.

If we stay at 6 and Mariota is there I can't see how the Jets can pass him up. I'm not a huge fan of him but the risk/reward profile at QB is just too good. If there is a 50% chance that Mariota becomes a long term NFL starting QB and a 20% chance that he's a true "franchise QB" or eventual Top 10 talent then you simply have to swing for the fences when that pitch comes. I would rather swing and miss on QB than play it safe and try to lay down a bunt on OLB or WR. JMHO.
I think my preference is still trying to trade back, particularly if we can hold that number 6 spot hostage for a team that wants to move up and overpay, but this League revolves around QBs and until you have one you do not have a chance to win a Super Bowl.

I keep hearing about teams overpaying us for Mariota but I can't see it happening. Why wouldn't they trade Washington or the Raiders and take away any chance we may have of taking him? Maybe I'm missing something here.
Anyway, I like Mariota's make-up enough to take a chance on him as long as we sit his ass on the bench. Then I would like to see Geno win the job out of camp because I think Fitzpatrick is a smart guy would could mentor him on the sideline.
If Mariota was gone and Fowler somehow dropped to us, I would want him over any of the wide receivers.
