I imagine he would've been 3rd behind Watkins and Evans but ahead HAVE OBJ (without having the hindisght HAVE his studliness)
Is that about right?
what's the ceiling on this kid, is he really in AJ Green's strata, or is he a step below?

Good topic and I think we'll get some differing views here. Personally I still need to watch more tape but I'd easily put Evans above both of them because freaks like him don't come along very often. FTR he was my #1 receiver coming out last year and this year in the early stages I have Parker over Cooper. What would be interesting is if we could combine this years prospects vs. last year prospects in an all out death match. 2015 is looking like another year that WE HAVE to draft a WR within the first 2 rounds.

We definitely need another CB, but I would rather bring in an established vet (or 2) through free agency and use the draft to try to rebuild the offense. I am still hoping we finish round 2 with a WR & QB -- may be some good options at LB like Ramik Wilson/Eric Kendricks in the 3rd.

I like Parker a little better than Cooper also. Cooper is a really nice prospect and is rock solid top 10 pick. I just like Parkers size and leaping ability over Cooper. I have no doubt that if you put Parker in Coopers situation at Alabama that he could put up equally impressive production. I actualy like the top of this receiver draft better than last years. There are more big body outside receivers in this draft. That said, you better grab one in the first two rounds though. There isn't the depth to this class like last year.

Too bad there isn't depth like last year... we could be lucky and grab another Jalen Saunders like talent...

I'd rank him #1
The great thing about Cooper is that he doesn't have to rely on blazing speed or a 6'5 frame to make plays.
The kid is a fantastic route runner and seems to already know all of the little nuances of the position.

Thanks Woody and UT, I really need to watch more film. How do you compare him to Parker? When I watch Parker I see a man playing against boys that has a skillset that projects to the NFL. Parker has everything I look for in a high first round pick at the WR position.

Parker is more Brandon Marshall, Cooper more Reggie Wayne. I just don't like to over analyze these things and go with the guy who has the higher upside, but isn't as polished or as good of an all-around player as the other guy. That's how you wind up with Heyward-Bey over Crabtree. I still love Parker, but I wouldn't take him over Cooper if they were both on the board. He's definitely my #2 wideout though. I personally think people are overrating Kevin White a bit. He's a solid 1st round prospect but I wouldn't draft him in the Top 10. Probably wouldn't draft him in the Top 20.

Probably wouldn't draft him in the Top 20.I knew you liked Parker beforehand and I agree 100% about White. My only problem with the Parker vs. Cooper argument is size related. I can't find a hole in Parkers game and he is a 6'3"-6'4" WR with great hands and leaping ability that is going to run fast. I watched that show on Cooper about his upbringing and I wish him nothing but the best and would be fine if we draft him because I scream playmakers every year. I just think Parker is a better prospect. At the least, so far.

I'll come back to this later - but the NFL community would have ranked him after Watkins, for sure. Based on measurables, no way he out ranked Watkins. Probably would have been a split on who liked him more than Evans. His ceiling is higher than Coopers.
I've had Parker ranked 2/3 for a while. Cooper's a safer prospects, but Parker exudes same rare "attack the ball" skills. I still like DGB more for ceiling reasons.

Not too sure you'd rank him above Watkins

After Sammy, but before Evans. Cooper is going to be a stud nfl receiver. I wish we weren't so desperate for a qb because cooper would be a layup.
I really wouldn't hate going into next year with hoyer at QB and cooper as our #1 pick.

I'd love to see Cooper be drafted by the Jets, but I don't want Hoyer. He's a career backup.
