To get back to your original question, and I don’t mean to mock anyone’s religion, a lot of atheists can’t understand how some people think some dude parted seas, or how a woman became miraculously pregnant, or some guy died on a cross and rose from the dead…etc. Where they hook them even more is when they get attacked they can pull the ‘ole “see, the proof that we’re telling the truth is that they don’t want us to spread it”. |

It's a money launder/tax haven for celebrities. They "donate" $10M and get $9M back, all clean. Beats paying 35%+ to the feds and all you have to do is say, "Yes, Xenu was a bad guy. All hail David Miscavige."

All hail David Miscavige." This has a lot to do with it. You don't see too much of scientology outside of wealthy areas (but not just Hollywood). There's also a lot of mental manipulation going on. It's like you come for the tax breaks but stay for the blackmail. |
