On this day in 1954 former Jets HC Herman Edwards was born in Fort Monmouth NJ. Harm coached the Jets from 2001-2005....
He played to win the game....

Liked Herm as a person when he was here but didn't think he was a good coach.
Unfortunately he's become a caricature of himself now on ESPN (that station has a way of doing that) and he's become annoying.

Herm made reference to a HC being a CEO. needing to delegate etc. He was worlds apart from coaches like Parcells and Billicek. I would argue that his love affair with Chad also held us back. |
