Saw all three when they first came out, 2nd was the best if you ask me. Rewatched them a few years ago, they have dated, but still Mel Gibson's high point on film as far as I'm concerned.
Edit: actually the above is only slightly true, I guess. I saw the first two Mad Maxs on VCR rental, too young to get into the cinema. Probably about 6 - 9 months after cinematic release.

Nothing will ever top Road Warrior...but yeah, I'll see it.
It definitely looks more interesting than 99% of the lame ass action movies they put out these days.

Shame that he's essentially been blacklisted by Hollywood due to a private phone conversation with his wife, meanwhile those same people in Hollywood worship a whiny fucking child diddler like Woody Allen.

There was also the antisemitic rant to the cop and a string of bad movies but I agree on the double standard.

Agree Mel has had a very good career, lots of highlights, but the original Mad Max (Road Warrior) films left a big impression on me. Probably the other Mel film from around that time that I still remember is one called Gallipoli directed by Peter Weir (Master and Commander, Dead Poets Society, Witness, The Truman Show etc), also I reckon recently Mel's been involved in some pretty good films, Get the Gringo for example, and I really liked the one he made, Apocalypto - its just a great film.

First reviews are in: pretty much 5 stars across the board. I'll be going the first day it opens, first screening I can get to.

I've seen this, and I'll be going to see it again. It's an awesome movie experience - the choreography, editing, soundrack and direction are absolutely top-notch. If they had of ended it half way through it you would have thought: "that was short but great", but the last half just ups things again and again. Puts other so-called action movies to shame.
