May 17th, 2011: Former NY Defensive Tackle, Marty Lyons is named to the College Football Hall of Fame.  Lyons played 4 years at Alabama and won a national championship in 1978, before being drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 1979 draft. |

May 17, 2013Jets RB Mike Goodson is arrested in drugs and weapons charges after a traffic stop. Goodson and another man were found stopped in the center lane of I-80. He ahd marijuana in his possession and a loaded handgun was found in the vehicle. Goodson would beat the weapons charges after a court date in 2015, but he would have to serve a 4-game suspension from the NFL as a result of the drug charges.  After serving his suspension, he played 2 games in the 2013 season before tearing his MCL/ACL while making a tackle after a Geno Smith interception against the Steelers. He would never play in the NFL again. Goodson would be released by the Jets when he failed to show up for a mandatory mini-camp prior to the 2014 season.

marty lyons was a really good dlineman. i always wondered about his feud with gastineau.

Every time I hear Marty Lyons voice it reminds me of the old cartoon Tennessee Tuxedo.
I think he did the voice of Chumley, Tennessee's friend. lol
