Shit just got real, its pretty amazing in a lot of ways they've lasted this long being this corrupt. A lot of the endemic corruption in my country was wiped out in the 1990s, but this level of corruption at FIFA is industrial-scale-likely-billions if its all accounted for in the end - it makes almost any other type of corruption look like penny-theft . Stupid thing was how open and brazen it was - like any law-enforcement agency worth their salt is going to put up with that on their patch. Not surprised both Swiss and USA authorities involved. Unsurprisingly the Russian sports minister is in as deep as a vets fist up a cows arse, he's also the one running the World Cup when its staged in Russia - I doubt if they will be able to arrest him. Russia is probably the only other place I could name with corruption as bad today as what is found at FIFA.

Do you have a link to this? I heard about it on the radio, have no clue what the deal is with it.
Next up they should take down those crooked IOC fucks.

^ ^ yeah forgot about the IOC, they're almost as bad. They just had the presser for it, a lot of US Federal organisations have a hand in it, FBI is one, I'm not really sure what the others are or what their function is. Basically it looks like they have FIFA by the balls; they've got people to roll over etc, and I don't even think this investigation has uncovered anything as yet on the bidding processes for the WC (but apparently they'll be looking into that?); this investigation is into TV rights, exclusive naming rights for competitions etc. A lot of the bribery/fraud etc was carried out on US soil using US banks etc so is easy to prosecute.
Got to hand it to the US authorities - they've stepped up in a big way today, most football fans across the globe will be giving double fist pumps to themselves that this has happened. It's a great day for international sport.
Best news service covering this now is probably the Guardian.

If only we could investigate terrorism as well as sports.

If only we could investigate terrorism as well as sports. Considering it's been going on for decades and I seriously doubt any real change will follow....I hope we're doing a way better job on terrorism.

When you have a voting system where Andorra has as much weight as Spain or Germany, you're litterally asking for corruption.
Pats and FIFA in the same offseason. It's Christams!

Yep. I knew something was up when Qatar won the bid. Who the fuck wants to play in the middle of the desert during the summer?

The Onion strikes again. LOLZA
Amazing that this guy had any form of power in the FIFA when it's clear he knows as much about soccer as I do about heart transplants.
