They all suck and hopefully someone will run against Hillary to at the very least make her work for the nomination. Trump reminds of the many right wingers who posted in years past. Christie should run as the "Cameltoe straight bullshitter". Jeb appears to getting his shit together. The he others are exactly that the others. We are Fucked. The political, super rich, and media class are involved in an insidious conspiracy to hold onto their power and money and, in the process, screw us all. And it can all be traced to the abysmal failure of the press, which is now "media", to faithfully fulfill their obligation to report thoroughly and accurately without an agenda. It used to be that "reporters" led middle class-type lives and understood the problems of the average man. Now, they are "celebrities" and rich. They rub elbows on a daily basis with the very people they are supposed to be digging up dirt on. And when you have a reporter that does their job (i.e. Cheryl Atkinson), the media presidents that control "content" will not run their stories because they do not want to harm their politician friends. Plus, the huge companies, owned and run by the super rich, that essentially pay the salaries of the media presidents do not want stories run that harm "their" politician. So, now whenever someone runs for office who is not a member of the "clique", the media tells us from the get go, they don't have a chance. Trump gets media attention because he is kind of a hybrid. While he is one of the super rich and a celebrity, his views are inconsistent with their hypocritical cumbaya viewpoint expressed while they fleece the country for every penny they can get. He gets attention in the media because he his Donald Trump. But what keeps him rising in the polls is that he speaks his mind, rather than spew politically calculated mumbo jumbo. This makes people think he is an outsider, but he's not a total outsider. He is Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack. He is a member of the club., but the other club members view him as an embarrassment. But, don't be fooled. While Trump is boorish, he is a very smart guy. More importantly, despite some of the non-politically correct things he says, he is not a racist or an elitist. He is an egalitarian. If he wasn't, the green rooms of the nation's news networks would be filled with minorities and women whom he treated badly over the years. They are not. I also look at how good his children have turned out because I've learned that you can often (not always) judge someone's character by what kind of people their children become. None of his kids ever show up in the tabloids for behaving badly, and all of them certainly seem like exemplary people. Who is the last celebrity rich guy to have multiple kids without some or all of them being screw-ups. So, that said. Trump's honesty is what people crave in the political process and which is why he is doing so well. The media is unable to dislodge him from his perch (try as they might) because he is a man without any serious vices who already had some traction as a super rich celebrity. Unfortunately, I do not think he would make a very good president. He speaks too much in terms of "I'm a winner, and you are a loser". That's not what leaders are made of. I continue to search for a candidate to support and am torn by my desire for an an outsider (Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Sanders) and my reality of wanting someone with a record of shaking things up (Walker, Cruz, Paul). While I am of the libertarian/conservative view, I am not ruling out a democrat. I wish Jerry Brown would enter the race. I've always liked his ability to think outside the box. And for those that think he is a flaming liberal, look to his record as Mayor of Oakland. A position he held for 8 years (1999-2007) running as an independent because of a "deeply corrupted two party system." He governed pragmatically focused on economic development, reducing crime (broken windows proponent) and charter schools. I also hope Joe Biden enters the race. He could very well become the "accidental president". Despite his perpetual foot in mouth disease, he is a decent man who has never been "bought" by anyone. So, I continue to be a vote without a candidate, waiting for someone who desires to address our problems head on, is not afraid of ruffling some feathers, but who also wants to be the president for all of us, not just 50.5% of the voting electorate (thanks Karl Rove). Sorry for the venting.

Jerry Brown ran for president 25-some-odd-years ago. He was ran out of town by the establishment. He's definitely not democrat or republican.
He had my vote then, and he'd have it again now.

I don't know why people say that getting illegals to leave is a big problem. There is an EASY fix. No gov benefits unless you can prove citizenship or green card. we already have laws where you need to prove status for a job. ENFORCE those laws aggressively. Make an example of a few businesses that hire illegals. When the opportunities dry up, they will take themselves home. They are not here for the cooler weather. I was just doing a "read-by" of this thread and read your post and wanted to say "Spot On!". There's just one problem: the left wing/socialists in power don't want that to happen. They want to continue to grow their base of government dependent constituents so they can continue to carry the large states with big cities that are full of them come election time. The election maps tell the story.

What about the surgeon guy, Ben Carson?

What about the surgeon guy, Ben Carson? I like him. He seems like a good man and is very smart. His lack of experience scares me and he seems a little too timid IMO. I think Fiorina, Rubio & Kasich did the most to help themselves last night. I really believe that the Dems want Trump to win the nomination so he can say or do something stupid that will hand them the next election.

Fiorina is an egoist like Trump, only she understands the game. I agree about the other two, although I thought Christie did the best, followed by them. Aside from the weight (unfair), I really don't get why the GOP hasn't warmed to Christie. He's like Trump when it comes to speaking "his mind/telling it like it is", but in a more polished manner. That, plus he actually knows what he's talking about.

We've had plenty of attorneys and lawyers (professionally trained liars who attend schools to learn how to lie really really well). But about Trump. I think thinking his nomination is equivalent to handing the dems the election is a dangerous underestimation. Remember, one of the republicans most successful presidents was an actor. The guy is a boorish idiot...a very successful boorish idiot. I wouldn't underestimate him. You'd be surprised the people who would pull the ballot lever for him if it's a choice between him or Hillary. I, for one, refuse to vote for someone just because they think it's "their turn". She has yet to demonstrate she's not just a big fat phoney. The emails, benghazi. What's her ideas? Is she just Obama Lite?

His positions on 2A are almost Blue (Dem).

Obviously, her record at HP is going to draw a lot of fire, but I like the "fight estrogen with estrogen" idea. Not 100% sold yet, but she has my attention. Also hope Biden gets in the race and ruins Hillary's parade.

Don't forget that Reagan had also been the governor of California so he had some political experience in a big state. I think the dem race is about to get interesting. Both Biden and Brown are considering jumping in, and the anti-clinton wing of the Dem party, the one that preferred an inexperienced senator to her, is still alive and strong. They are both waiting for now because if they enter, they become the story rather than Clinton's problems. They don't want to interfere with all of her negative attention. On the Republican side, Trump's not going away. One of the other candidates has to show they have the charisma and hutzpah to take this away from Trump. I've been terribly disappointed in Gov. Walker. Jeb is beyond blah. Fiorina is a great debater, but I do have concerns because I remember a lot of controversy and problems when she ran HP, and I do not know what her other accomplishments are. I think the world of Dr. Ben Carson, but he is not inspiring. Ted Cruz is brilliant, but lets religion creep into his candidacy too much. Rand Paul acts like Libertarianism is a religion. Christie is mean -- we all know he wanted the bridge closed. Kasitch seems OK, but he's got no gravitas. The GOP says they've got a deep bench. I agree. It is "deep". But heck, Jordan's Bulls were deep, but they won Zero championship's without their star player. The GOP needs someone to rise above. Where is our "happy warrior". I am not a big fan of Joe Scarborough (I feel like he compromised some of his views just to be "viewed" as a thinking man by his friends on the left) but will someone, anyone please start talking like this...
