Today, we go way back. 50 years ago today, July 28, 1965, Joe Namath played in his first game situation for the Jets in a rookie scrimmage with the Boston Patriots.

Always loved that picture of Namath 3 feet in the air throwing....what an athletic guy... The other thing to love about the picture is the scoreboard in the upper right corner. Its cut off but it looks like NY 38 NE 13.

namath was quite the athlete. i recall he was pretty good at basketball too.
