So today, need a Rangers win and an Isles win.
Also, a Senators and Penguins loss, and a Bruins win. That'd put Boston 7, and Ottawa 8, yes?

Rangers beat the Cap. Win tonight and we have home ice against the Caps. Gonna be a tough game though, Jackets have been playing great hockey down the stretch.

Nice to see KO pick up the goal. He has been struggling big time since coming back from the injury. Would be huge if he can get it going again for the playoffs.

Well. that sucked. Somehow you just knew that goal with 0.02 left on Tuesday night would make a difference. Not the way you want to head into the playoffs. 2nd time in ten days that we blew a 2 goal lead int he final 10 minutes. Although none of that will matter if they somehow can come out and play well against Washington. But if they have these stretches where they get stuck in their own end for minutes at a time against Wash, it could get ugly.
Can they get things turned around by Wed/Thursday?

101 points this season is the most for an Isles team since 1984.
A 5th seed in the East is only the 2nd time since 1993 that we have made the playoffs as anything other than an 8 seed.
We should be celebrating a great season as we get ready for the playoffs.
But the way they have played over the last 6 weeks, it is awfully hard to be optimistic heading into the playoffs. A good outing in Game 1 will do a lot for us fans -- I wonder how the players are feeling right now.

Can they get things turned around by Wed/Thursday? I don't know. It would be nice to see Grabo back and Hamonic is a must. I'd keep Boulton in instead of Kennedy,.....guy is a complete waste. I'm going too miss a huge chunk of the series but at least I'll be able to see the first game. Hickey has to go.....he was brutal again tonight, unfortunately CDH was not much better. |

And to add another kick in the teeth, looks like Benn from Dallas has a 4 point night and passed JT.
Hickey mouse is a waste of space.
They have played better the last 5 or so games, but no where near how they were playing the first half of the season. Really doubt they right the ship. Washing tons PP is lethal, isles PP is anemic. The last 10 seconds of any period is a nightmare. Blown leads in the third is a habit with this team, not an apparition. Quite honestly, that blown third period lead to the Rangers right after the all star game sent this team on a tailspin. A fucking shame they have no balls to pull out of it.

Hickey mouse is a waste of space. LOL at the Hickey Mouse. There is no way in hell he weighs over 160lbs. which was a weight I was rocking as a 12yo Little Leaguer. True strory. If we can get Hammer back and maybe Grabo..... maybe one of the young guns on the defense play with the expanded roster we have a shot. Normally I would feel confident no matter who my team faced, but this team is different. Lets Go Islanders!!!!!! |
