You can mark Rex's decline to the day this happened. All downhill from there. Used to get lambasted on JI for suggesting it. Glad you guys have come around with hindsight. Valid point.... If we're playing the hindsight game....I look at that entire regime's downfall starting when we went fishing for Nnamdi

Romancing Nnamdi and letting a lot of the smaller fish go. We really botched that free agent frenzy. Proof that Tanny was in over his head as a GM.

Yes, it was a bad offseason, but even so, we got to 8-5 that season and seemed a lock for the playoffs. Then the brutal 3 game losing streak against the Eagles, Giants and Phins. Thats where it turned around in my mind. Up to that point, we were 28-17 in the reg season under Rex. 18-33 the rest of the way. It all turned around after that three game stretch.

We were really dominating and pushing the Giants around up until that point too....if just one of several players that had a chance at him just made the tackle, then the Giants punt from deep in their own end and we get good field position before halftime....that was a tough game to lose.

Warrior, good teammate and he didn't carry firearms into clubs and shoot himself.

To this day, I don't get why Mason failed so miserably with the Jets. I mean the guy was a pretty solid receiver his entire career, why did he suddenly fall flat in NY? sanchez?

cotchery was money when he was thrown the ball. i still remember that one legged catch he made. i think it was all about money and he wanted to be the no. 1 receiver. maybe that's not the real story since he signed with the steelers and was barely the third option.

The good news is that we finally got revenge on the Giants this past year and that over-rated primadonna OBJ. With that win, we went back to being the Team of New York.
