Good post Ray but I'm going too highlight a certain section of your post. With that paragraph below would YOU not have an agenda and be speculating out of your ass as to what has really transpired? You're no different than the media with regards too your agenda....only difference is you always see the positive. What are your thoughts on the whole Richardson situation? I'm sure the media is just spinning that shitstorm in a negative way and only praised him when he won DROY. How can that be? I would probably agree that Geno could have done more to prevent the situation, but in reading Becht's comments about how players usually never pay back for expenses laid out by players for their own off-season charity work when they invite other players, I'm lead to believe IK made a much bigger deal about this than he should have, and based on some of the reports that came out about IK, his temper, anger problems, and is frugalness with money, I do think IK is completely at fault for going after Geno. I think the situation played out along the lines of Geno said he would pay IK back, once training camp started, team in meetings all day, practices, living out of a hotel, little to know free time during the first 1-2 weeks, he probably let it slip or probably didn't get a chance to, and handled it very casually. I'm sure Geno had the chance to complete the exchange more promptly, if people want to put that on Geno, ok, but I mean, why would one millionaire worry about $600 for another player who was making $750K? IK didnt' want to wait, and made it a big issue. Geno probably got upset about IK making it a big deal and that is what IK responded to.

What agenda do I have? I don't hate Geno like many do because of the events that took place. Either Geno gets his chance and emerges, or he's done, and the team moves on, I have no personal investment in Geno, I just think he has tools to take this team to the next level
On field performances of a 22 and 23 yr old with barely NFL talent around him.
I was looking forward to him making a jump this year, his 3rd year, when a lot of players usually find themselves. He was doing everything we would want him to do as fans this off-season an the first two weeks with the reports that came out.
Tying in his past inconsistent performances, to this IK issue is ridiculous.
Sure, Geno needs to prove himself.
Fitz is limited QB, love his smarts, his guts, he's a gritty player, puts it all out on the field, surely something we all as fans can respect, but we aren't going anywhere with Fitz, we'll win some games, he'll be a good leader, but the true teams will exploit his weaknesses. We finally have legit NFL talent and speed at WR this year, we need an arm to make this all work, the team with a legit QB can bring this team to the playoffs. I'm not sure Fitz can.
Love Fitz as a backup, but I was hoping to see Geno make the jump, I think he has the tools to get us there, but I agree, there are still unknowns, I at least wanted Geno to get that chance, so we can finally see if Geno can make the jump, or turn the team over to Fitz and develop Petty, until we make the next move at the position.
I just think fans are piling on Geno unfairly, no thanks to media agendas, and an unfair lack of patience to let a kid develop. I mean, any QB we draft is going to go through growing pains. Petty will go through it too, the problem is, nobody has any patience to let them go through it. Sorry, two years is not enough for Geno, he deserves at least a 3rd, but probably no more than a 3rd.
As for Richardson, there really has been no media spin on his situation, he pretty much deserves the backlash he is getting, and he's paying for it. Two legal ramifications, facts are in black and white before the media can do anything with it, no juicy headlines, team handled it pretty well.
Another point, you bring up a good counter argument for me to prove why I think the media has a slimy agenda. The majority of the fan base loved Richardson. Not the same with Geno, the media smelling blood immediately launches their anti-Geno campaign.

I agree 100% with the above quote. But as usual you tap dance around the question I asked you. You keep saying there is an agenda against G eno but you surmise exactly what happened that day. You claim nobody knows what happened, but yet again, you figured out exactly what happened. Is that not an agenda? A positive spin agenda that no Jet can do no wrong?

I notice there's no threads about Genos apparent innocence. I am glad you finally mentioned it I was going to create a new thread with the Marshall ESPN interview that came out I find it extremely telling hypocritical that there is no thread on this. I think it really speaks volumes that there really are a lot who have an agenda against Geno! I find it telling it took 6 days for a teammate to go to bat for him. Regardless what anyone thinks actually happened between IK/Geno, you cannot ignore that besides Marshall and Decker, no other teammate has publicly backed Geno. That is bad news.

Right, if he came out the same day or the day after it would have made more sense, now it seems like damage control. I really don't know what to think of this kid. It's not anything major, just a lot of little things that bother me (sans interceptions and boneheaded turnovers). -missing a team meeting in SD time zone fiasco -the dick pics thing -him getting tossed off a plane -now this Was hoping he turned a corner in maturity and on the field, now we have to wait even longer to see if we should waste our time on him or not.

Hopefully Marshall's comments defending Geno have nothing to do with catching passes primarily form Fitzpatrick the past week.

My interpretation is based on all the feedback on both sides, filtering through the media agenda and the quotes and demeanor of Marshall in his interview, Bowles in his own. It's speculation, how is that an agenda?
No Jet can do no wrong?
What?
How the hell does this even make sense, stop with your obsessive witch hunt and policing of my so-called bias. Did I not just comment on Richardson deserving the backlash he's received? I'm not even claiming Geno is 100% a saint in any of this, well aware of the areas he needs to improve as a player, both physically on the field and as a leader. He needs to earn every bit of it.
You have to be over-the-top naïve not to see the games the media is playing on the Geno topic.

When your QB's rep is being trashed AND you respect him, you step up and straighten it out. Just like Marshall did. I think it says a lot that no one on the spur of the moment came out to defend him. Where's Mangold? Brick? Wilkerson? EDIT: Either our 'leaders' have no spine (which could actually be it) or they don't want to step up to the plate for Geno. All isn't lost. It'll all go away with winning but he just made his way back to the field a lot more difficult. JMO.

If you see/hear what Marshall said in his interview, Bowels put the clamp down on the team to not talk about it and move forward. Marshall made it a point not to respond to the NY local media about any of this, that is the part you and others are missing here.
Also, the media came out with their BS spin about how silent the team was after the issue 3 days later, well duh, between the closed practice, travel day for the pre-season game, the game itself against Det last week, and then the off-day on Friday, those articles came out on Friday and over the weekend, the media didn't even have access to the team, can you not see the game these clowns were playing?

Geno have a speedy recovery, and I hope you show this growth everyone has raved about if Bowles gives you the ball back....

You never heard him say anything less than 100% supportive of any of the QBs even through the worst of times. However if you look at when he got up in front of the media that day and answers questions that was clearly not the same guy. He wasn't unflinchingly supporting Geno that day. That probably says it all right there for me.

eh. He's a Jet so I'll support and cheer him.
Yeah, he's immature. Many of us are at 23 years of age.
He hasn't been busted with a DUI, drugs, gun, PEDs... Hasn't beat anyone up, domestic violence...
He hasn't Patrioted anyone... ya know murders and cheating the league...
The Jets are better off if he plays well. He's the best we got at the moment, so I'm not trashing or booing him.
