The beginning of this game could have been entirely different if the blatant late hit on Fitz was called to extend our first drive and a borderline hold on Revis wasn't called to extend theirs.
Still no excuse, but that missed call on Fitz is pretty big in terms of momentum.

I would love to see the dilemma that would take place if Noodlepatrick comes in throwing ducks to start the season....
The consensus would be to throw yet a 3rd rookie QB in the fire because it worked so well the last 2 times we tried it.....I'm sure of it

Unfortunately special teams is a 1/3 of the game so that's really skewed. However, I don't believe we're nearly as bad as we look. Once we game plan we'll be fine and I doubt our special teams will be that bad all season. Our OGs and Fitz's arm strength are what I'd worry about.

Agreed, also wonder how much of the ST mishap had to do with it being Devin Hester returning the ball

Agreed, also wonder how much of the ST mishap had to do with it being Devin Hester returning the ball Exactly, we went against one of the best returners ever. Even if we're avg on special teams that's not going to happen a lot. If this was a real game we probably would have lost after that start, but I think we would have made it close. Once the real games start and we actually game plan I think we'll be fine. We have too much talent on defense to suck, and Fitz just has to be avg.

The thing is Fitz might be better than Geno, but he's still not very good and won't improve. Geno has the higher upside. Unless Fitz some how kills it this should be Geno's final audition for the Jets so we can move on. If he doesn't get a chance to play then we'll most likely roll with Fitz, Geno, and Petty again. At least if Geno plays, and he sucks we can then draft a QB high and let him and Petty fight it out next year Are we still holding out hope on Geno? An NFL QB is not only a Juggs machine, he is also a leader of men, THE leader of men on an NFL team. Geno has had every opportunity to show his leadership, and he has failed miserably at every turn. The sooner this team moves on the better for all of us. There is NO future with Geno at the helm. IK Enemkpali for NY Jets 2015 MVP. SAR I Great; now, take your finger out of my nose. Don't you have an ocean to drive your car into? Did JN shut down? Why is this dickface HERE? Fuck you, SAR.

jcappy heres your new avatar and badge wear it proudly a fucking moron On his FRONT LAWN throwing a football for the media. The QB you want to lead a team you support. And now as if i couldnt hate the fuck anymore he looks like kayne west Hollywood is basically hitting all my points on the head - he may not be Namath or even fucking Alex Smith or Joe Flacco but he has upside, was showing promise, and there's zero downside in letting him prove himself vs going with the 11 year known quantity in Fitzpatrick or another rookie QB in Petty. Geno comes back, sucks for two games, dump his ass - no point in not seeing what he can do under this system. He could be Hitler's clone with down syndrome if he plays better than Fitz, which he was before he got clocked, start him. He's kinda dumb; football wise. Tough as nails but ...the GB game exposed it; he needed to sit on that ball in the final two minutes 1st half...took a high risk move for almost nothing; and we all paid the full price. Add in goading your own teammate...

1st D gave up 80 yards, 62 on one play. Sort of sucks I guess. It was a busted play, a coverage mistake, big difference. Anyway you look at it, 85 yards total given up on the first half, one real scoring drive is great. What at it doesn't so is suck

Thank god we play the Browns week 1. Hopefully that game can give this team some confidence.
But then there's the Colts week 2......
