I don't know if it the wholesale changes within the organisation but I feel confident about the season. Pre season was good although I know its not a yardstick measure it was fantastic to see WR's catching balls for the first time in 2 seasons. I just feel that the usual Jets pre season circus was not there (apart from the Geno incident) because the press were concentrating on Gaydy and the Deflatriots. It seems the Jets were just left alone to get on with it.
Fingers crossed.

I feel like we definitely took some steps forward in the front office and coaching department as well as on both sides of the ball. While Fitzy doesn't exactly get me excited or pump me full of confidence, he provides veteran leadership, intelligence and the ability to right the ship at the unstable QB position. While I fully expect us to win, I'd like to see a few things to get excited about heading into the big game next Monday night.

I am always psyched for the season on week 1. Then it usually becomes a question of how long until the Jets beat it out of me. Made it through one game and 28 minutes last year until I got it beat out of me. Hopefully it takes a bit longer this year.

If you're not excited week one, you're not a fan

It took me until way late in the season to beat it out of me...I didn't even watch the last 3 games. I'm a slow learner I guess.

I really hate going all in with this team. Really takes a lot out of me emotionally.
So as usual, I'll tread lightly early. By the 2nd quarter of game #1, I'm fully invested.
Fuck, another year of this shit....lol

If we have trouble today, I could see it being a long season. I want to see some real domination today, to be honest. I think we out match these guys in almost every aspect. If we're still battling it out late in the fourth, it'll be the same old story, terrible offense.

I'm excited. I'm even excited about Fitz, I expect good-enough things from him.

People were also excited about the kotite era, Bradway era, mangini era, idzik era, etc. not me but some were. We will c. Not optimistic tho. Team seems blah and boring. Fitz? Blauch.

It actually took me a while to like Mangini, Rex was an obvious great year but tailed off much like Mangini, however Rex and the front office left behind a total mess, not a team just going in the wrong direction. I've seen some good improvements in 2nd string players and as i mentioned before more balls being caught and fought for.
It could be depression in 3 hours but something tells me no.

It seems like my first feelings were good.
OK so we started very slow in my opinion but everything else made me happy.
Offence: Decent passing but overall amazing hands. Some great and intelligent catches. The running game was hit n miss, some wobbley legs and holes missed but a decent game.
D: Very very good. Not great coverage on short passes but in 1 on 1 exciting. Finally the tackling... Well it had me pumped, commitment, and great technique.
