I don't want this to turn into an Idzik debate, just thought this was a good read. Often we hear this scenario with talented players, rarely witn talented execs. If Idzik is out, and you are calling the shots, could you pull the trigger? His track record is impressive, I think I would roll the dice. GM

The guy is delusional. You don't hand the keys of your billion dollars enterprise to a guy who can't even figure out he's an alcoholic.
New York is not for him.

I think he knows he's an alcoholic, he's not going to admit it to the world because he is not yet prepared to live without it. He re-brands alcoholism as "a problem", a problem he is implying, that he has resolved. He is talented, I wish he was consulting with the Jets. Woody is way to conservative to hire a a man in denial ... If Al Davis was still alive he would have a job.

Hire this man! Can he do worse that Idzik??? He obviously has an eye for talent. Union General Uylesses S. Grant was also thought to be an alcholoic and when Lincoln was considering promoting him because he was the only Union general who was winning battles (in the western theater of the war), there were many in the adminstration who warned Lincoln that Grant was a drunk who loved whiskey. Upon hearing this, Lincoln said that if that was true, he was going to send a CASE of whiskey to all of his generals in the field. Hire this drunk!

Being the GM for the Jets would be enough to make even a Puritan drink. Might as well give him a shot at winning the job.
