A real shame, loved to listen to Spurrier's recap of games or discussions of other teams. He simply did not give a flying fvck. Unfortunately, the Gamecocks are becoming the doormats of the SEC and with Clemson fling high, this is not acceptable, especially with Gamecock fans accustomed to the levels Spurrier took them to. I think Steve knew it in his heart, and decided not to tread water on the USC dime.
They are on their 3rd QB of the season, two out with injuries...their pass defense is non-existent. As with any of these programs, picking a new coach has do be done with recruiting in mind. Thats clearly an issue here.
I was down there before the storms hit (son goes there) and it is a great place to see a game, I hope they can turn it around.
