I can remember clear as day, seeing footage of cheering in nthe streets as the WTC was in flames. Not thousands like Trump said, but a hundred or so, on the streets in NJ. Am I the only one who seems to remember this?

I seem to remember reports of people cheering.
Either way I am not sure how anyone could fact check this. Can someone fact check the guy I saw peeing on someone's car yesterday? The media is going to try to pick apart Trump on anything bc he bullies them back.

The media is going to try to pick apart Trump on anything bc he bullies them back. Well, Giuliani and Kerik seem to remember people cheering. Rudy admitted that Trump is exaggerating...But he isn't entirely wrong. I remember reports of it. Dan Rather did an interview with Letterman a week after 9/11 and mentioned it. I'm voting for the guy if he's still on the ballot next year. I'd rather have a blowhard as president than the current capitulator in chief we have now. Trump speaks his mind. I can respect that more than a politician that says what he thinks you want him to hear. He plays with the media now, exposing the whole presidential race for what it is...a big, long drawn out, dumb reality show.

Given the astronomical costs to actually become POTUS, one has to question whom their allegance goes to once their in place. IMO, it goes to the people who paid to put them there (and uphold their personal interest), not those who voted for them. The job is basically constant renegociating your ideologies. On top of that he'll have congress to go through .. So it doesn't matter what a President's personal opinions are, the chances of him actually doing what he believes in are actually miniscule. JMO

I definitely remember the reports because I was tempted to drive my truck over there and run a few of them over.

I do remember reports of people celebrating. It wasn't thousands, but Trump is prone to Hyperbole. Also, isn't jersey city where the blind sheik who tried to blow up the WTC the first time is from? If so, it makes perfect sense.
I like Trump for 3 reasons. First, he is beholden to no one and does not give a shit what other people think. That's clearly a first for someone running for office. Second, every single one of his kids seems hard working and high functioning, and really looks up to him. Plus, I've not heard one former employee or business associate say even one bad word about him. How many super rich business people can you say that about? Third, politicians hate him. So, I'd like nothing better than to make Trump the boss of all of them.

I can just hear the MSM now... Trump said thousands and that report speaks only of a handful. However, Trump-speak is riddled with hyperbole. From "Amazing" to "Just Awful"; "Winners" to "Losers"; "Beautiful" to "Ugly". When it comes to expressing himself Trump only knows how to go big. The problem for the MSM is that people understand this about Trump. How can they successfully demonize a guy who has been in the public eye for decades without any real scandal and who people feel they know from his time on the Apprentice? They can't. People have already formed their opinions about Trump and I generally think that opinoin is that he is a bit of a blowhard but genuinely a good and sincere guy.
This actually happened with Reagan in the 1980 election. The media and pundits painted him as not a serious candidate and as a hateful, dangerous man. However, Reagan was well known to the public as an amiable sort of guy who had hosted the GE Theatre on TV for years. People felt they already knew Reagan and efforts to define him as a hateful, dangerous man were unsuccessful.
Don't get me wrong, I wish Trump would ratchet it back a little and seem a little more presidential, but who am I to give advice since he's doing just fine doing it his way.

Am I the only one who seems to remember this? I remember a photo, of a public pier or area (sim to SoL) and people seemed to be cheering; this visual accompanied these stories. Maybe 'shopped. I remember it, though.

Even more proof is how the media IMMEDIATELY stopped talking about Trump's remarks when facts started to surface that it did happen. No follow up or anything. Now that it's come out that Carter banned Iranians from the US in 1980, watch how quick they'll drop the "Trump is racist because he wants to ban Muslims" thing...

There is no doubt...and there was plenty of discussion of it in the media...funny the short memories of folks. Muslims are basically hostile, un-assimilated space-aliens, most of whom are playing their passive-aggressive stand-by act while radicalized lunatics dwell amongst the cover of their communities. In the days after 9/11 we had to pair up our Detectives with FBI agents (who were clueless) and hit doors all over the tri-state area...after dealing with these "innocent people of peace", they came back shaking their heads and fearful for the future of this country. Look at the weapons they are now finding in French Mosques... Libs cant stomach unpleasant truths.
